This strikes me as a remarkably self-aware statement from the official page of the Cambria County, PA GOP—a page that overflows with MAGA propaganda. They are basically describing the epistemology of authoritarianism, only saying it’s good actually, or unavoidable?

"Observation"
When anyone does not want to to believe a fact, because it does not support their mindset, they will say anything, to justify what they considered to be the truth. These are considered altered truths and not based on on proven facts. Facts are facts, but truths and what a person chooses to believe is based on their cultural bias. Everyone has developed a cultural bias after birth. We are influenced by what we are exposed to as we mature.

Ireland is the only country in Western Europe that has experienced being colonised in the modern era. It was used by England as a laboratory for imperialism & was the site of bloody colonial wars for centuries, yet many people in the United Kingdom have little understanding of Ireland’s history.

Germany’s rightward shift reflects Pennsylvania’s Rust Belt realignment — and Democratic failures with the working class
It’s hard not to see the political parallels between Cottbus, a city of 100,000 about 75 miles south of Berlin, and Rust Belt swaths of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Thank you everyone who have already signed the petition! Still waiting for the rectors of Finnish universities to take a public stand for the freedom of science.
A screen capture of an article in Hufvudstadsbladet, written by Nathalie Koskinen. The original text is in Swedish, the translation in English of the headline and ingress:

"700 scientists resist American pressure

The US is making demands on the University of Helsinki: terms such as climate change and equality should be censored. Now hundreds of scientists are raging against Trump's pressure, and see the risk of ominous snowball effect. "Censoring individual words is just the beginning", says initiator Tapani Hopkins."
