@valvegearvy.bsky.social and I were talking about how the BR Standards are basically copies of other locomotives, and then I joked about how the A1 was a 'copy' of the Stirling Single and now i have the thought of the HST's being a copy of the Coalbrookdale Locomotive

In 1934, the PH&E did mass shopping on the MK-4's, and subsequently re-equipped them with coil type feed water heaters instead of the previous bundle. The coil was a better overall design, with only two coils instead of fifteen bundles. They were easier to wash and service. (Part 3)

The mass rebuilding also introduced a larger sand dome, the installation of Automatic Train Control (ATC), and steam heat lines. This brought the heavy mike fleet up to dual service standards, and they were seen both powering freight and passengers until retirement in 1958. (Part 4)

C&DR No.151 "Foxglove". Built and modified by Anstis Works for the purposes of the fledgling railway company. It arrived with an order of bogie'd tenders (pictured) to go behind the railway's first batch of 'Myth' locomotives. Foxglove would become the basis for LLW's 'Fable' class of 2-6-4Ts.
