London’s low-emission zone led to children gaining lung capacity; so why was it blocked in Ireland?
Comment & Analysis: Researchers were surprised by how much schoolchildren's lung capacity in London has improved since the controversial, yet highly popular, ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) was implemented, The Guardian and the BBC reported this today. Users of cars, vans, minibuses, motorcycles and other vehicles which do not meet the Ulez standards must pay £12.50 daily charge to drive in the zone, which is nearly as wide as the M25 motorway.

Hip hip hooray! Time to hang the flags out at The Causey
A campaign to change the space at the junction of West Crosscauseway, Nicolson Street, Chapel Street and Buccleuch Street has been running for just short of two decades - and, eventually, the first phase is underway. The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) will be implemented next week when capital works begin to reverse the flow of traffic, rubber kerb partitions and wands will be installed on the road with signage and road markings to reduce through traffic. Two -way cycling will be introduced and residents parking outside Buccleuch Church will be instated at Buccleuch Place forming a protected triangular pedestrian zone.

Kerry hospital bike shed — your questions answered, and your wild claims debunked
-- Let's be honest, most people complaining are also complaining about all active travel and environmental funding. But there are also questions that make sense to ask. Comment & Analysis: The cost of €127,385 for the Unverity Hospital Kerry bike hub, amounts to just €3,184 per space for a far more substantial structure than the Dail bike shelter which is wide open to the elements half the time and only secure because it's in the grounds of Lenster House, and came with a staggering cost of cost €336,000, or €9,333 per space.
