Federal agents are pulling over off duty cops based on the color of their skin. This is not a serious operation to enforce immigration law. It’s a performative show of force and it’s gotten way out of hand.

ICE has gone so far that even the bro-casters are saying out loud what’s happening in Minneapolis is brutal and wrong. Too many in Congress need to catch up to where we are. There is no both sides on state violence.

👀 Many recent incidents attributed to ICE are often actually done by Border Patrol: Greg Bovino’s sweeps of New Orleans and Chicago, agents rappelling down from helicopters into residential apartment complexes, and agents jumping out of the back of a U-Haul truck to detain suspects at a Home Depot.

🍷👴
Not that there haven’t been other signs that I overdo it. Last week, we passed a wine shop and my son said, “Look Daddy, wine!”, in the same the way I used to point, for his delight, at passing fire engines. I’m 40 now, a little overweight, and having young kids means I do think about remaining active as they get older. Every Derryman I met in childhood sported a paunch by the time they reached their mid-30s, and cast the silhouette of a pantomime dame by the time they were my age. I don’t know that I ever saw one of them eat a vegetable. Portly relatives dying of heart attacks in their 50s was a tragic but commonplace occurrence, in a way that seems alien today, a feeling borne out by statistics that say cardiovascular deaths in Northern Ireland decreased by 76% between 1979 and 2013.

The idea of an “active dad” was so absurd that I can think of just one example from my entire childhood – my friend Paul’s father, who occasionally dropped in on our weekly five-a-side game. At the time this was so novel as to be miraculous, as if we were playing with someone who had been exhumed from a bog, his face purple, his knee wrapped in tape. He swore a lot and never seemed to be having a particularly good time, but we put this down to the fact that old age had turned his blood to dust, and he was likely confused and distracted by the appearance of electric lights and overhead planes. He was, I’m now forced to realise, 43 years old.

At the NY Times and other legacy media, Trump’s horribleness is always *at* the cliff, never *over* the cliff. He’s always “testing the boundaries,” not shattering the boundaries. NYT will say Trump is a “maximalist” (not a dictator) until the day the newsroom is shut down.

I can’t speak for everyone, but my mind tends to treat writing an article, making a video, writing a song, cooking a meal, drawing an image, and, apparently, designing software the same way. It’s not a matter of just “generating” something perfect from my head, but exploring the tension that exists between what I’m imagining and the limitations of my stupid meat body. That’s actually the exciting part. It also lets me figure out if something has turned out wrong or just resulted in a happy accident. Vibe coding, like every new trend coming out of Silicon Valley, turns this process — the entire act of creativity, itself — into a slot machine. One more pull on the AI and maybe it will figure it out for you. You won’t understand how any of it works, of course, or feel particularly proud of what you’ve done, but maybe you’ll have something. Just a few more dollars for some more tokens. C’mon, just pay a bit more.

Incidentally, here is the map that Miller is trying to ethnic cleanse the US back to.
A choropleth map of the United States titled "White Vote by State in the 2024 Presidential Election." The subtitle explains that it shows the "Non-Hispanic White vote by state, in terms of Trump's margin of victory with that demographic."

A color scale at the top shows blue for negative margins (meaning the opponent won the demographic), white for a margin of zero, and red for positive margins (meaning Trump won the demographic).

Key data points from the map include:

Highest Margins for Trump: The Deep South shows the strongest support, led by Mississippi at 73.6, Louisiana at 66.2, and Alabama at 64.8. High margins are also seen in states like Wyoming (51) and Oklahoma (49.4).

Lowest Margins (Wins for the Opponent): Trump lost the White demographic in several states, indicated in blue. The most significant losses occurred in Vermont (-32.6), Hawaii (-28.8), and Massachusetts (-21.2). The District of Columbia shows the largest negative margin at -87.0. Other areas where Democrats won the non-Hispanic white vote include the three Pacific states, Colorado, and New England north of and including Connecticut.

Regional Trends: Strong support for Trump among White voters is visible throughout the South, Midwest, and Mountain West, while the West Coast and parts of the Northeast show support for his opponent.

"Think about where this is leading. One possibility, anticipated this morning by financial markets, is a damaging trade war. Another is an American military occupation of Greenland ... U.S. troops would need to force Greenlanders, citizens of a treaty ally, to become American against their will."
Yet what matters isn’t the specific phrases, but the overall message: Donald Trump now genuinely lives in a different reality, one in which neither grammar nor history nor the normal rules of human interaction now affect him. Also, he really is maniacally, unhealthily obsessive about the Nobel Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee, not the Norwegian government and certainly not the Danish government, determines the winner of that prize. Yet Trump now not only blames Norway for failing to give it to him, but is using it as a justification for an invasion of Greenland.

The letter is full of childish grammar, lies and a loose grasp of history. Trump did not end 8 wars. Greenland has been Danish territory for centuries. Its residents are Danish citizens. Many “written documents” establish this, including some signed by the US. And Trump has done nothing for NATO.
