Monday afternoon depravity with a preview of the restored cut of The Devils. Looking glorious on the big screen. Climactic literal boning aside, I became fixated on what Ken put Vanessa Redgrave through to achieve a realistic 90-ish degree head angle for all her scenes

Odd omission in this article: it characterises Paxman and Ann Robinson as ushering in an era of 'bad' quiz show hosts without mentioning that both of their successors are among this year's Celebrity Traitors cohort www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

The AI industry continues to be trapped in an endless panicky improv game, where they have to think up new uses for the humorously pointless object they’ve been given.
Whose line is it anyway. Stiles and mocherie play an improv game with a big white foam object

Rewatching The Thick Of It. 20 years ago, the idea that the ‘Mother’s piss’ lady was BNP was enough for the news media to wipe her from reports. These days, any news platform would make her a hero for the same reason. We live with deliberately enforced social regression.

This also affected the new Larry David series. The sketches were interminable because they had to justify the spend. No room for a quick gag and out when you’ve paid for the costumes and extras. Might have been better to do running gags in the settings throughout the series à la Horrible Histories

A viscacha, which kind of looks like a spherical rabbit with brown and grey fur, sits on a rock and looks very chill.

watched Penda's Fen (BBC1, 1973) on BBC4 this week and its depiction of the 17 year old main character's homoerotic dream about his classmate was, while not explicit, very suggestive for a mainstream channel at the time
