Imagine how humiliating it must be for an ad company to demand content changes to a site like FA, only for that to cause the ads viewers to literally pay -more- money directly to FA to get the advertiser to fuck off. Like, the money was there all you had to do was not fuck with it.

A site like FA is probably the highest-value impression a web advertiser could hope for in the modern internet. It's a high-engagement nonalgorithmic monopoly on a specific set of user-generated content. Saying the site needs to -change- so it can attract -less value- engagement is fucking stupid.

Anyways I just want to remind "We have to fight to the death to defend Nazis out of fairness" liberals, if you do get power again, consider that was always childishly naive at best, and they treated Twitter giving *them* special privileges as if it favored liberals & as an excuse to censor you. etc

I will note the post mentions being asked to ban things like "Plus sized bodies", non-nude characters "hugging", & that recent other examples have treated things "body ambiguity" to police non-cishet white bodies, so this isn't just "Ew furry porn" & will not stop here.

My neighbor told me the Strait of Hormuz kept eating his aircraft carriers so I asked how many he has and he said he just goes to the shipyard and gets a new carrier afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding aircraft carriers to the Strait of Hormuz and then his daughter started crying.

Discord is the king of asking me to spend money on features AIM had in 2004, but that Discord does worse. I'm waiting for the Nitro++++ option that lets me pop messages out of the Discord window so I can see more than 1 at once & change my font color, which they kind of do sell.

"But then Google/Discord's virus scans couldn't work or they couldn't us an AI to snoop through your dick pics to your partner to make their stupid blur feature work" The scans give up & I don't particularly need a nanny, I'd rather mark my whole account adult & just blur everything to filter users

It also meant we both had to be there to talk directly toeach other for the transfer so I could physically voice chat them & confirm if I wasn't sure. Instead of a cold call from a friend who hasn't texted me in 6 years.

Not that there should be a limit. "But Discord/Google/Whatever server space is expensive" I don't particularly want Discord to save anything. I remember a time when I could just use AIM to send a file from my computer directly to my friend's. So they're buttering me up with less than I had in 98.

Make no mistake, this is censorship. This is a targeted attack by these bankers against freedom of speech & LGBT content. Every accusation is a confession. This is not due to 20 moms in Australia. That's an excuse. To wash their hands, turn an erosion of freedom & privacy as an outside concern.

#savespeech #stoppaypros One of the few comic sites that allowed monetization on adult content is closing its doors after its paypro dropped it over allowing adult content. This is the fate for all websites if we allow paypros to have continued immunity to decide what is allowed to be monetized

Banks, the biggest arbiter of what can be distributed online, are steadily restricting the types of speech — art, entertainment, resources — permitted. A payment provider dropped FlowFo for allowing sex-related content, pushing them out of business. Financial discrimination is censorship.

You push queer people out of public & into 'adult' spaces? Destroy those under the guise of cleaning up'. After sewing fear make stuff up ("forced trans surgery! Groomers! Zoophilia!") & then condemn anyone who disagrees, conveniently leaving the context out (you want to remove pedophiles right?)

A consistent tool is context collapse, too. Marginalized people flock to subcultures mainstream/right-wing/toxic masculinity culture doesn't frequent at the moment? Then they have to go or those minorities pushed back out. tabletop games cause Satanism. Rap causes moral decay. Halloween poisonings

The Satanic Panic never ended. Growing out of Jim Crow & along with white-flight, siblings with 'anti-gang' laws, 'urban' fears, 'stranger danger' hysteria, this Chris Hanson panic, to this Tumblr hysteria, all with the same rough MO; create fear & scapegoats & a nanny state 'for your protection'.

I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."
Post from NYT reporter Eric Lipton

"What an odd moment in United States history.

A U.S. president is running an overtly political campaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government.

Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit."

They’ll say “elect better democrats” and then use various methods to cheat in the primaries to stop candidates they don’t want winning from winning then they’ll run candidates who lie about how they’ll vote to win the primary, who then vote in entirely different ways once in Congress

Liberals are, I think, struggling to accept that a lot of the justifications the democrats have been giving them for why certain things can’t happen are lies. They say “we can’t do this thing you want because the law stops us” then the republicans take over and break the law over and over

The issue is that a lot of the parts of the constitution people care about the most are, in practice, not being enforced because the people tasked with enforcing those rules are often the people breaking them The senate needs a 2/3rds majority for *each* case of breaking the rules

They are of course correct that in a democracy it should be possible to arrest powerful people who break the law But it’s never worked that way in the US? Kissinger died free despite committing genocide. Oliver North did no time. Obama forgave Rumsfeld That’s a glaring flaw in “equality under law”

I don't even think the people who do this do it out of malice always. It's just that actively burning down a queer author is easier than getting people to do anything about a horrible rich person. Cancel culture is real but nobody who has been actually canceled has regular speaking gigs on Fox News

Or moreso is this a failure to be perfect in a situation where pure evil is so bog standard nobody gives damn anymore? Or worse, is this a clumsy attempt at doing good, or failing to execute, that gets more scrutiny than bog standard pure evil. Or is the remedy suggested to.. reward the evildoer.

One thing I've been massively wary of too is: Is the subject a marginalized person & is this alleged crime an issue that 20 billion white Fox News watching dudes sleep soundly without a care after doing? Then I'm not interested on making the minority the trial case.

Robin 🦊 @robindamien.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Like you are pointing a gun at someone & pulling the trigger & no amount of washing your hands of it after or corrections or conditionals, or error on your part matter. You are pulling the trigger on a harassment campaign. If you exclusively 'call out' queer PoC artists? Has a lot of implications.

Robin 🦊 @robindamien.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Like the bigger you are, the more focus you put out, and the more marginalized target & more disagreeable on a personal level the action (nobody cares about a CEO dumping poison into children's lunches, but yelling at one cab driver who discriminated against *you*, wheew boy) the bigger that mob.

Robin 🦊 @robindamien.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
A thought I've had percolating for a while, and part of why I'm wary of call-out/dog-piles is if you have sufficient reach, and you put someone on blast for.. anything, you are asking some amount of people to try to harm that target. And it does not matter if you specifically say "Don't harass them"

Of course considering that Taco Bell voluntarily disclosed the source of their produce, specifically to help the public interest, popular media treated them like they fucking grew the tainted lettuce themselves. Where if they shut the fuck up & let us die... well nobody is yelling at Chipotle's.

Further, as this proves again, they want my fucking retina scan to go to Bad Dragon, but you can't tell where tainted meat is because they play shell games with the sources. You practically need a private detective or to make it your full time job. Or hope a restaurant does the right thing.

Robin 🦊 @robindamien.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
If you want proof that crime is a subjective cultural issue that depends on your de facto caste, consider that if they permanently injure thousands for money, it's a civil matter. You probably settle a class action for $30. If you were to pickpocket one rich dude you'd go straight to criminal court

Robin 🦊 @robindamien.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
At this point I'm of the mind if you get someone hurt or killed by tainted food right after you fight for less restrictions that would have prevented the very harm or in this case a fake USDA stamp, it should be treated the same as if you broke into their house & robbed them at gunpoint.
