If you dont have parents its hard & expensive to get your license. Not driving impacts your ability to get a good job, education etc. Theres a program run by vic roads that helps young folks without parents to learn to drive. You can volunteer to teach them here: transport.vic.gov.au/road-and-act...

Denialism doesn’t change the reality that roaming pet cats are a scourge for Australia’s wildlife | Biodiversity Council Australia
Despite the overwhelming scientific consensus on the detrimental impacts of roaming pet and feral cats, narratives that downplay these threats now risk further harm to Australia's biodiversity.

Couple thoughts on the recent resurgence of "scientific" racism. 1) This is usually treated as a science=head/humanities=heart problem. It is increasingly clear that this is a false framing. Lot of major players are emerging within the humanities (esp phil. depts). Biosci is largely steering clear

I've been monitoring malleefowl breeding activity in Bronzewing Flora & Fauna Reserve since 2002. In 2012, after 2 La Niñas broke the millenium drought, there were 32 active mounds in our site. In 2023, 10 seasons after a fire destroyed 86% of the reserve and following 3 La Niñas, there were 2.
