If they've only charged him under CDA 1971, then it's the same charge as doing graffiti or knocking off a policeman's hat. I repeat: there is two tier policing in the UK - one tier for grannies holding placards opposing genocide, and a much lower one for Nazis trying to murder people at sea.

The relationship between neurodivergence and nature is insightfully examined by JOE HARKNESS
Why do neurodivergent people often find themselves in caring careers, and consolation in nature, asks BBC wildlife writer Joe Harkness' book.

Microsoft wants to build a 160MW AI data centre just outside of Leeds, next to the River Aire. By its own numbers the resulting habitat loss is massive. The reedbed and wet woodlands will lose 87% of their biodiversity value whilst the site as a whole will lose 72% of its existing wildlife habitats.

We *can* all do something (not spark wildfires, for example). But asking individual citizens to solve systemic problems is peak neo-liberalism. Not watering our gardens isn’t going to fix pipes or build reservoirs. Government needs to do more than ban barbecues and send scary alerts. NOW.

Microsoft want to build three huge AI data centres at Skelton Grange. It would drain the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop it - add your name to the petition.

When we are told not to speak ill of the dead, it is the continuation of the whitewashing - turning the cruel into the eccentric or the avuncular - allowing their cruelty to go unspoken of for the purpose of “manners” that they didn’t demonstrate in their lives as they happily dehumanised

Worth remembering that Barnes & Noble is owned by the same people as Waterstones. They are a big business wanting to make money. They do not care about people. They have questionable morals. Yes books = beautiful whimsy, but big chain booksellers do not equal ethics.
