Reposted by RivetAnaël seghezzi @anaelseghezzi.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Small update on the Megadrive *rally game* ? I added sprites and did some optimization so CPU is still at 70% usage with a stable 60 fps. I'm a bit disappointed by the sprite width limit per-line. I wanted a lot more dense vegetation but it's not possible with sprites. I'll try other methods. 2330781

It runs pretty well, I'm quite happy with my rasterizer so I will try to add more polygons and scenery #SegaMegadrive #SGDK 46817
Reposted by RivetAnaël seghezzi @anaelseghezzi.bsky.social · 25/09/2025Only 2 colors, but finally some stable 30fps 3d without line-doubling (256x128 or 320x128 pixels) on stock Sega Megadrive :) The bottleneck is the height of the polygons. I exhausted all my ideas so I don't think I can do faster at this resolution. 410323

Convert scaler to a line scaler rather than column, allows for per line expansion / contraction eg more like mode 7. Speed up the code & have about 50% cpu free running the scaling (cpu calculated) + sprites + audio etc. The target for this is ingame effects !! 24414

FM may be easier to recognize though SMPS would have trouble playing it back due to the speed required to stream the audio. Did get to play around with the format and make some cool transmissions. Might revisit. 1132
