PRO en de vakbonden gaan niet akkoord met een bezuiniging van 3 miljard op sociale zekerheid. Geld dat gespaard is door werknemers en werkgevers als verzekering tegen ontslag of ziekte. Dit geld is niet van het kabinet. Het is opgebracht door alle werkende mensen in Nederland. Dus blijf er vanaf.

On prostate cancer screening. I chose to screen because of family history - cancer was found (low grade, early stage). I had active surveillance with MRI/biopsy for a few years. Then when it progressed, I had Nanoknife focal therapy. Modern methods allow control with less overtreatment. #r4today

Paper out in collaboration with the Liedewij Laan group Starting from an interest in PTMs and protein modification, we developed a sortase substrate for farnesyl incorporation. And learned, the hard way, how difficult these compounds are to work with, despite their simple structure 😳

I really dislike how science has started calling almost any fancy computational technique AI. 🧪 The framing of this entire article makes it sound like a benevolent AI independently made these drugs. That is *pure fantasy*. Instead: a team of scientists made a machine learning model for a study.

Today, we remember the Second World War in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 I’m sharing the story of Emanuel Speijer, a Jewish entomologist deported to Nazi camps. Studying insects there helped him endure the horror, and his work helped fight diseases. He survived, and so did part of his collection. 🐝🧪
