The role of ionizing radiation-initiated reactions in targeted activation of chemotherapeutics
Nature Reviews Chemistry, Published online: 15 December 2025; doi:10.1038/s41570-025-00779-3This Review explores how ionizing radiation triggers drug release via water radiolysis, detailing reactive species, drug activation mechanisms and strategies for designing radiation-sensitive prodrugs and nanocarriers to enhance chemoradiation therapy with reduced systemic toxicity.

🧼"Why does soap make bubbles?" ✍️ “Why can I draw with coloured pencils?” 💥"How does a chemical explosion work?" These are some of the questions that I answered during the Klokhuis questions day held at NEMO Science Museum on Saturday. Such a pleasure to work with these super enthusiastic children!

Exo-templating via pseudorotaxane formation reduces pathway complexity in the multicomponent self-assembly of M12L24 nanospheres - Nature Chemistry
Non-covalent and covalent chemistry can be controlled by using synthetic tools, such as templates. However, selective multicomponent self-assembly remains challenging because of the many kinetic inter...
