I was at a hotel recently that had a cutout in the glass shower pane so you could reach in and turn it on without being in the shower proper. It felt like the first real societal progress in decades.

The national survey, ordered by Rachel de Souza, the children’s commissioner for England, showed that headteachers have swiftly instituted bans on smartphone use during school hours.
