Did you know... there's a tiny Dracula statue hidden in Hungary? 🧛‍♂️ Perched just outside Budapest’s Vajdahunyad Castle - a building inspired by Transylvanian fortresses - this little bronze statue shows Count Dracula reading... Bram Stoker’s Dracula! 🦇

So good to get back up Cadair Idris last weekend, an old favourite. A little crowded but good to see work being done to conserve the paths.

We are recruiting! An exciting new opportunity has opened up here at Gladstone’s Library. We are looking to recruit an Archivist who will work in the Library’s busy Reading Rooms. Working in a team of five, this role is a mix of public-facing and office-based work. 1/3

The push to teach more wide-ranging Welsh history is excellent, but shouldn't replace wider histories. As for history teachers' fixation on Nazi Germany, US civil rights etc they're overworked, so will go where the resources are, it'll take time to build up a similar pool of Welsh history resources.

The Library is sad to hear of the death of Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas. As an esteemed academic, an advocate for culture and heritage, and one of our foremost political figures, he made a substantial contribution to Welsh life. We extend our sincerest condolences to his family.
