I think you'll find that's my barrel! Just some of the dozens of different characters on the Babington monument of c1538 at St Winifred's, Kingston on Soar. A pun on the family name (a tun being a barrel) there is allegedly a hundred little people, I didn't count them.. #SundayStonework

Edinburgh Council approves temporary ban on statues
Edinburgh Council has approved a temporary ban on public art projects in Princes Street Gardens in a drive to move new statues away from the city centre. This will work as a "temporary moratorium" until a "statue and memorialisation plan" and wider Princes Street and Waverley Valley Strategy are signed off. This will not affect ongoing projects such as the memorial for Muriel Spark and a sculpture to commemorate those impacted by the Infected Blood Scandal, but would prevent any nascent memorial projects for the gardens. Princes Street Gardens is one of the capital's installation hotspots, with 21 statues and monuments standing in the gardens, and another two on the way.

The Windrush Prize will award £10,000 to the writer of the winning play, which will receive a run at the Arcola theatre next year The first prize dedicated to discovering and developing British Caribbean playwrights has been launched using compensation awarded to a Windrush victim who died before receiving it.
