It seems pretty clear that once they go down the path of intense plastic surgery that they are really just in a constant state of correction from the last procedure. Just hard to believe that they think this looks *better*.

That’s better than what I say to my dog when she’s barking, which is a taunting “mother, mother, mother”, which I heard in a particularly dark bit from recordings from the Jonestown Massacre 😬

Crazy in that, these days, it’s EXTREMELY easy to not hear about something that is massively popular, but hell, even in 1991 I sold a boatload of “Ice Ice Baby” and “Friends in Low Places” in my mall records store job before I ever heard them.

Most Republicans know they’ve been aiding and abetting something abhorrent, and so their whininess and special pleas are mostly just part of the same bad faith act. But I do think they siloed themselves enough to lose track of the intensity of it, and must find this experience really disorienting.

I came up with some more inane bullshit for everyone to argue about!
(September 23, 2026 at 10:44am)
Fake opinions to argue over…
- Never turn left on a first date.
- Every kindergarten student should have an unpaid internship.
- The periodic table is too sexual.
- Bigfoot should be allowed to vote.
- Having a dream is the same as reading a book.
- You can wear a crop top to a funeral if the deceased person was hot when they died.

Okay so @defector.com has had an odd glitch since the site redesign a couple of weeks back where the wrong photo and headline are often put together on the main page and I was going to ask them about fixing it but this just happened and as far as I'm concerned they have to leave it as is.
Screenshot for a Defector podcast episode with the headline "Consider the Emotional Lives of Scallops" only the accompanying photo is a white gormless stubbled red-headed UK singer of recent notoriety giving a flat smile to the camera while wearing a washed out peach top as beige as he is against a flat background. So, actually, probably a scallop anyway.
