You might have seen my post on this yesterday. While I got lots of nice messages, I also got a load of hateful bile, so I've written this article to set the record straight. The dehumanisation of disabled people has to stop www.normalisland.co.uk/p/disabled-p...

Disabled people are not riding around in free cars. That’s not how it works.
Sorry folks, but I’m breaking character today because Nigel Farage has pissed me off and I need to set the record straight.

Superb point. Where the Brexiters failed is in durable consent. Who benefits from it their project & wants to carry it forward? Who in the next generations are thanking them for Brexit and championing it? No-one. If we get the UK into EU membership, it must be underpinned by durable consent.

Britain is reopening the question of Europe. This time, we need an honest debate before choosing again

Counter-argument: This is awful. Lego used to be a £20 box of bricks and no rules, to let a kid's imagination run riot. Then smash it and start again. Now it's a £140 kit to make one thing that happened before the kid was even born. Then put it on a shelf and dust it. Go shit in your hat, Lego.

New YouGov polling: Voters overwhelmingly back a UK donations cap
YouGov bar chart headed 'Do you think there should or should not be a limit on the amount of money individuals and entities can donate to a political party?', based on 5,456 GB adults surveyed on 14 September 2026. Should: 60%. Should not: 22%. Don't know: 18%

‘It’s the best feeling’: how Copenhagen gave cyclists a green wave. “Traffic lights are synchronised so a rush-hour cyclist at 20km/h can catch green lights all the way.” If you want people to choose not to drive, make the non-driving trip better & easier for them. It’s as simple as that, really.

£3 - the annual Labour affiliation fee per affiliated union member. £36,000,000 - how much each of two billionaires donated to Reform UK. One billionaire donated the equivalent of 12 million union members’ annual affiliation fees. The two are not the same.

A campaign for *MSF* to be banned as a terrorist group (on the paper thin basis of claims about 2 past employees) is the product of the UK Govt being willing to divorce any meaningful conception of societal threat from its use of proscription powers. Govt needs to wake up to the madness of this:

A suggested statement for Andy Burnham.
‘The British public decided in the 1930s that they would not tolerate black-shirted militias marching through their streets. They would cherish robust political argument; they would not accept thuggery and intimidation. When Oswald Mosley led his Blackshirts to Cable Street, local people turned them back. A new law – introduced by a Liberal, backed by Labour and carried by a Conservative majority – banned private militias, political uniforms and ‘the use or display of physical force in promoting any political object’. The British people are as determined today as in the 1930s that they will not accept the methods of Mussolini and the Munich Beer Hall. This government will uphold the law and defend the traditions of British democracy’.

You should’ve ve picked up the admission that JL Partners accept commissions for polls specifically designed to produce a desired outcome to influence opinion, not measure it. Loaded questions would be one thing (and reasonably transparent if accurately reported), but skewed sampling quite another.

Accuracy matters. Since 2018 there have actually been 17 convictions for voter fraud from approx 47 million voters. And 11 election convictions from approx 1300 Reform/Brexit Party officials. That's about 25,000 times more convictions per capita. I did the maths. You're welcome.

The nightingale hospital in Birmingham cost £106 million and didn't treat a single patient. We had no trained staff, because for decades we prioritised tax cuts for "wealth creators" (aka wealth hoarders) over investing in our country. Hospitals. Schools. Roads. Prisons. This is the result.
