Waiting to see if this nor'easter gets as bad as predicted. The local fauna can sense it. Early Wednesday evening, a murder of fish crows changed their flight pattern. Normally they fly straight over my house at that time.

Today the Middleborough Historical Museum holds an "extensive" collection of General Tom Thumb's & Lavinia's personal items. Some locals even call it the "Tom Thumb Museum." I'll have to visit it one day & peruse! P.S. In Massachusetts, Middleborough & Middleboro are the same place.

"The Middleborough Historical Museum is a museum located at 18 Jackson Street, Middleborough, Massachusetts." The museum is actually comprised of seven buildings. This photo from Wikipedia is of Mill House #1 (built circa 1820). It houses the Thumb collection.

By the time Lavinia died in 1919, not much was left of the lavish, Thumb years gifts & memorabilia. Most had been sold over the years for living expenses. In 1920, the estate auction at the Thumb homestead yielded $1,000. Unsold were the four portraits, now restored & hanging in the local library.

In 1885, Lavinia married another P.T. Barnum performer, Count Primo Magri of Bologna, Italy, & became a Countess. The title doesn't seem to have come with money. They opened a famous roadside stand, Primo's Pastime, in Middleborough. www.facebook.com/groups/22142...

Sisters Lavinia & Minnie were born in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Tom & Lavinia met while working for P.T. Barnum. After marrying, they set up a summer home in Middleborough, where he passed in 1883. #Circus #Sideshow

I couldn't tell if he truly was aggravated by the sight of me or my presence or if this was some strange attempt to hit on me. Do Swedes roast to flirt like the Irish do? I never found out. I wasn't single, & he reminded me of Animal from THE MUPPET SHOW. So that's how I once had a SFSFF nemesis.

One year I kept noticing one of the musicians scowling at me. I'd only heard him play in an ensemble. I had never spoken to him before, so he didn't know me. Eventually he approached me & said something chastising about "you" to me, but I don't even remember what.

Skeeting about the San Francisco Silent Film Festival reminded me that I used to have a nemesis there! Temporarily. Not one that I sought to make or even chose. Since I'm genuinely a decent sort, even if I'm not everyone's cup of tea, so someone strongly disliking me usually says more about them.

To be clearer, the author listed the best food options & their budget alternatives. I think the reviewer didn't like being shown what was inaccessible for her or maybe for others. Hard to tell if someone is offended on the behalf of others sometimes! Rail against Capitalism, not dietary facts.
