Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

I have a piece of advice for young cartoonists: Read some stuff and also do political comics. But maybe use a pseudonym until you get your feet steady

Yes, of course I love the cat and the drawing and the fact that the cat's name is GameCube, but I *also* love the details of the beautiful border and the spring toys.

I tried to read Don Quixote when I was in college and it was not hitting. Years later I got a hold of the Edith Grossman translation and it was thrilling, intriguing, and actually Very Funny. It's wild the way both versions are "the same book."

I wanted to read it before The Once and Future King and I think the paperback I grabbed is a dud. Is there a better version? Or is the original text just Like That?

I have been reading Le Morte d'Arthur and frankly I have not been enjoying it. It's like a Wikipedia synopsis: this happened. that happened. That's the worst way to translate something. It shouldn't even count. They should have to give it a new title.

I love Bengus MvC art so much because there are so many good lines and such great thought behind them. Look at Venom's jaw. He has teeth. But there's no actual jawbone. Of course the symbiote substrate would flex with the pressure exerted by his tongue. Of course the tooth-line distorts. Malleable.

this is a cropped section of Bengus's Marvel vs Capcom 2 art. It shows Venom's tongue sticking out, but the teeth and jaw protrude and deform to accommodate the pressure exerted by his jutting tongue. Is this cartoon logic? Is it realism? Who even knows!

Seriously, it's like people don't realize that there are plenty of people being oppressed by the state government. The "well then just move" people can't think for two seconds about what that actually means.

a Venom comic I drew in 2018

A four panel comic.
Panel one: The Spider-Man villain Venom's tongue is out.
Panel two: Now he's reaching back over his head with it.
Panel three: He's squatting on the ground and his tongue stretches all the way over his back.
Panel four. The tip of the tongue licks his butt.

I can tell that the cats are trying to hide the fact that they get along now because I'll sometimes walk in on them holding secret meetings.

The cats were just sitting calmly and looking at each other.

I have a lot of similarly unfinished/abandoned drawings and comics sitting on the hard drive, but I like to think that they still served their purpose, like when you get a game over at the boss of a dungeon but spawn back at the entrance with all the exp you got traversing it last time.

I'm closing commissions but if you want to help me out know that $200 a month could help me afford a really important medicine. ko-fi.com/kewpiiie

Columbo spinoff where he investigates fairy tale crime

Lt. Columbo holds a spool of sparkling golden thread.
"Y'know, dis kinda stuff just fascinates me! I don't think I've ever seen someone doin' work like dis with straw."

Lt. Columbo stands in front of a spinning wheel beside an impish gnome-person. "You're a real artisan, you know that? You must be real proud of what you've done here, mister, uh--"

"Say, I don't think I caught your name..."

I like Star Wars and everything but it's weird to me that people love cosplaying as Space Fascists. Stormtroopers and Imperial Officers are way more popular than rebel counterpoints.
