TIP: It's too cold.

ME: Babydoll, you haven't figured out the litterbox yet... do you want to at least go out and use it?
BABYDOLL: No.

I was trying to draw a Snallygaster but I couldn't remember what that looked like, so this is what I ended up with #horror #darkart

A monstrous creature with wing arms, digitigrade legs ending in long talons, and a head with one eye, five tentacles coming out the bottom where the rest of its face would be, and a large fin on its head. There are also several small bat-like creatures (also with one large eye each) fluttering around it.

Painting the same butterfly at age 20 and 30. Never give up on your art!

Two digital paintings of the same large yellow-and-black tiger swallowtail butterfly. The one in the upper left is labeled "2016." It has a more painterly style with some questionable proportions and anatomy. The one on the bottom right is labeled "2026" and is far more realistic, to the point it looks as though it might come to life and flit off the page at any moment. It's hard to believe I've only been a scientific illustrator for ten years, though that really was a whole lifetime ago. Thank you HRT for letting me live this long. :)

To be clear, I have no issue with fanart. I have no issue with people who do work for hire on corporate comics, which is a lot like fanart to me, especially at current page rates. My issues are about impinging on your neighbor's ability to sell.
