A reminder from nature to pause, breathe, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us while seeking a perfect balance in life... like this gorgeous male Southern Hawker! 💙🫶📷 Happy Monday everyone. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. 🕊️🌿 #MacroMonday #Nature #Invert #Dragonflies #UKWildlife #ECK
A close-up photograph of a vibrant male Southern Hawker dragonfly (Aeshna cyanea) resting vertically on a stalk of purple toadflax flowers.
The dragonfly is positioned head-up, with his long, segmented abdomen extending straight down the flower stem. His thorax is a bright apple-green color, accented by two prominent yellow-green oval patches on top. His abdomen features a pattern of dark brown, black, and bright green spots, transitioning into vivid blue segments at the very tip of his tail. The Southern Hawker has large, shiny compound eyes separated by a bright golden patch on the top of his head. Four translucent, glassy wings are spread fully open and flat to the sides, revealing an incredibly dense, delicate, dark-veined net pattern across their entire surface. The background is completely out of focus, filled with a soft, bright green and yellow bokeh effect created by sunlight filtering through garden foliage.

Chai: my first cup ever! Drank it with lots of honey. No wonder it’s so popular: spicy and very warming. Thanks to Rosemary Gladstar recipe! See Alt for ingredients.
Two mugs filled with brownish tea; one with cream. A stainless pot and small strainer with ingredients: black tea, fresh ginger, black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, coriander, and cardamom-broken up a bit with a coffee grinder.

Monarch sipping from goldenrods. Norwich VT, August 2026 #ECK #Photography #PhotographersOfBluesky #Nature #Stunday #ColorADay #OrangeSun
This image shows a monarch butterfly perched on some stems of goldenrod and sipping nectar from one of the blossoms. The butterfly is in the upper left, facing right. with its wings closed. We have a lovely view of the beautiful oranges and reds of its wings, as well as its body, antennae, and long proboscis, currently extended into a goldenrod blossom. The goldenrod appears vertically in the right third of the image, and horizontally in the lower third, partially framing the monarch. The image is finished by a tan background with greenish yellow bokeh from more distant flowers.

Misty morning pond. Norwich VT, September 2026 #ECK #Photography #PhotographersOfBluesky #Scape #Landscape #Stunday
This image shows a view of a still, reflective pond on a misty morning seen from behind a set of tall green bullrushes. The eye is captured by a central rush, rising from the lower right corner, whose tip ends in a brownish-orange seed head at nearly the center of the image. This rush draws the eye to the far left shore of the pond, where another set of rushes and bushes are reflected in the nearly mirror-like surface of the pond. Behind the central rush, other slightly more distant rushes rise from left to right, framing a tree on the right shore of the pond, and its reflection in the water. The image is finished by the appearance of part of a willow on the left border of the frame, and more distant trees behind the pond that gradually vanish in the mist.

Large seabird of the Atlantic with long, pointed bill, wings, and tail. Adults bright white with cream-colored head and black wingtips. Takes several years to reach adult plumage; juveniles are all sooty-brown and slowly acquire more white as they mature. Nests in enormous colonies on cliffs in the North Atlantic. Spends most of its life at sea, although often fairly close to land, so they are often visible from shore or on whale watching boats. Dives torpedolike into the ocean for fish. Gathers in large feeding flocks, but sometimes solitary.

Good morning 🌞 Have a Happy Friday! 🌿💚🌲 #ForestFriday #forest #trees #nature #landscape #scape #stunday #photography #mobilephotography #sunrise #wildlife
The photograph captures a picturesque coniferous forest landscape bathed in the light of the rising sun.

Composition and details:

Foreground: The lower part of the frame is densely filled with lush fern growth. Most of the fronds are a rich green, though golden and russet autumn hues are already beginning to appear in places.

Middle ground: A young conifer grows among the ferns on the right, while the slender trunks of tall pines rise in the background.

Lighting: The sun sits low on the horizon, filtering through the dense tree trunks on the left side of the image. Its bright light creates a soft glow—with sun flares—and bathes the entire forest in warm rays.
