I geniunely do not think this is true, and not just because I am closer to these candidates on some axises. The successful DSA insurgents have governed as more or less normal left-libs once in office. Mamdani and AOC have been affable institutionalists. Nithya Raman is a technocrat.

Where are all the takes about Cuomo underperforming? Every mayor who's won with around 50% in the last 30+ years (Dinkins, Giuliani I, Bloomberg I and III) all won against an opponent who got 46-48% of the vote. Cuomo underperformed all of them!!!
