Ros Luff @rashar.bsky.social · 30/06/2025Agree with all of this however non attendance is multifaceted. What frustrates me most is the pursuit of attendance at all costs without ever seeking to know the cause. The uptick in EBSA alongside ever increasing CAMHS waiting lists indicates there is much more to explore and understand. 020

Reposted by Ros LuffSimon Knight @simonknight100.bsky.social · 26/10/2024There is also a conversation to be had about whether the chronologically determined nature of the National Curriculum is a contributing factor in the increasing number of children identified as SEND. Ros Luff @rashar.bsky.social · 23/10/2024By curiosity, I'm thinking we collectively explore the barriers and help the pupil overcome them. Schools should only be measured for what they are doing to support attendance. A qualitative measure, not a quantitative measure of bums on seats 010
Ros Luff @rashar.bsky.social · 23/10/2024It's time to stop with attendance rewards. Heard of yet another pupil whose self esteem has been further eroded due to less than 100% attendance. Surely the rewards are quality teaching, education and socialising? The pupil missing this needs an approach of kindness & curiosity to help them back in 110

Ros Luff @rashar.bsky.social · 11/10/2024Well said, & you should write more often :) re cost & value, these are rarely measured the correct way. Ros Luff @rashar.bsky.social · 22/09/2024Agree, however it would be good to have a level of SEND training in that space. All too often the people working one to one are the casual staff given a few extra hours. Whilst there are some diamonds amongst them, it's more luck than anything if the SEND pupil receives appropriate support. 031
