Join us for a webinar on Tuesday September 22nd at 7pm to hear from civil society movement representatives from across Asia Pacific and beyond about collective responses to the complicity of public institutions and corporations in enabling genocide, illegal occupation and apartheid in Palestine as well as ongoing military aggression in Myanmar, including through the defense, surveillance, technology, minerals and energy sectors.

Speakers will highlight how solidarity is being forged across borders, including through organizing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), mobilizing for an end to the flow of fossil fuel and mineral supplies relied upon for military operations, demanding an end to trade in arms and blocking arms shipments from entering territorial waters.

We will also discuss connections to the continued efforts to advance a legally binding treaty on corporate accountability, affirming its significance in the context of conflict, occupation and wars of aggression.

Agreed. My only issue in IT is a "forced" sale of a property when it's inherited. CGT is indeed messy but I guess my thinking is that upgrading house should only be possible via earned income rather than value increase of property. Unless it's improvements as you say, then it gets difficult.

Stefan Woodhouse @rangerdave23.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
I should have clarified, profit on something you paid for. If it's inherited property then the whole property value should be taxed on sale.
110
Stefan Woodhouse @rangerdave23.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
Oh I 100% agree that on sale it should be taxed & highly, I was referring to having to sell property to pay for the tax on it. Keeping the property can be for sentimentality or housing security, but it should not acrue value or be viable for high rents. Any profit from sale should be taxed heavily.

Stefan Woodhouse @rangerdave23.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
I agree in principle but not completely: yes to high IT on all wealth *except* property. However, property shouldn't be as valuable as it is. We need to make property a poor investment (rent caps, taxing empty houses etc) then houses can be inherited on without unreasonable wealth build-up.

The biggest advantage fascists have today is the disconnect between left or liberal youths with older generations, especially in places like the US & UK the disconnect is more prominent when it comes to the conversation of human rights and international law. The youth crave justice & accountability.

It's 24 June, 2025, and Britain is
marking its annual Independence

industries, too, have revived as
energy prices have fallen back to

is not easy to quantify. Britain has
recovered its self-belief. As we left
the EU, we straightened our backs,
looked about us, and realised that we
were still a nation to be reckoned
with: the world's fifth economy and
fourth military power, one of five
members on the UN Security Council
and a leading member of the G7 and
the Commonwealth. We recalled, too,
that we were the world's leading
exporter of soft power; that our
language was the most widely
studied on Earth; that we were linked

ATTENTION!!!!
May 3rd Anti-Mega Chinese embassy March
Earlier, the media estimated that the government may make a decision in May, so let's seize the opportunity to pressure the police to
show that the current risk assessment of the vicinity is by no means valid. Birmingham's bin workers proved pressure
works. Let's do the same. The government can't claim "it's under control" if we show up in force,
We must say NO to the embassy
- again, and louder!

Date: 03-05-2025
Time: 2-5pm
Location: Royal Mint Court
Format: March & Assembly

Join us!
Your voice matters.
Let's stop this together.
