What you need to understand is nothing we built was “off the shelf.” Store-bought environmental assets for stop-motion features do not exist. We were given concept art and told “make it look like this.” Everything you see here, down to the dirt and moss, was meticulously designed and crafted.

I have a Playdate, and when I tell you I don't even hover my mouse over a the Add Game button (buying it) before I check the AI use declaration. I won't even consider a game that isn't 'created without the use of genAI'. This put into words a lot of my shared feelings in general.

One thing I'm grateful to AI tech as it is today is for lifting from my eyes the veil of de-facto trust in experts. I've seen so-called authorities in their field uncritically yield to mediocre AI, singing its praises, and I can now easily see the emperors have no clothes.
