AI makes it even more important to try (and try again) to get clients to see code bases as intellectual investments, not machines. And agents have been fantastic for my own theory building, for understanding behavior and data, for tutoring me, and for forcing me to verbalize my concepts.

I’m interested to see what comes of this, and hopeful it could loosen Facebook’s grasp on some communities I care about. But few things I imagine building for my communities would be well served by the panopticon style of social network, designed to support rapid growth and advertising.

The goal was to make the site easy to maintain and cheap to run. Everything but image assets are managed as files in github.com/pnwinsects/p.... The site is a static build, with no other server-side or third-party runtime components. Even the Identify tool and site search are client-side scripts.
