One thing they don’t tell you about being a working artist is that every once in a while a picture is simply Haunted and, for reasons beyond the reach of man, simple things you have done a thousand times will be Very Hard and Look Bad and you will lose ten years of skill for the duration of that job

ai is dangerous not because it is gonna turn into the terminator like elon etc say it’s because it allows under qualified people like elon etc. to make even more bad decisions faster with more confidence

Very cool Preview! Everything looks really nice. Nothing immediately for me, perhaps, but good stuff all around. A bit curious to test the new paints.

Chariots, Hellstriders, regular Herald gone from the new Slaanesh book... Guess they cleaned out all the old models (except Daemonettes). Hardly any daemons left now. They should make some new ones, for all gods. The Eternal Conflict, with 3 dudes on each side, that's weak. The gods are getting old.

My Samus redesign with the Giger slider cranked waaay up.

Closeup of Samus in her Zero Suit which is fused to her skin.

Samus with her Varia Suit, Zero Suit, and transparent Varia Suit to showcase details of how it fits her. Also yes she has a missing hand because I think that both fits into a cannon better and is just cooler.

My gaming group is becoming increasingly brazen about using AI. Posting pictures in the chat, putting up pictures on the walls, being ok with copying or modifying models for print... I've tried confronting them, and they've made it quite clear I'm the odd one out. I'm the only artist, after all.

I love charts like this, as they remind us that good policy is possible AND successful There’s a similar trend for Paris and indeed there’s no secret to it: it’s all urban planning to improve public transport and incentivise an overwhelming adoption of it, and also reintroduce much more greenery

Chart that showcases Paris throughout the years and its air pollution levels, showcasing the years 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2023. Gradually, what were extremely high pollution levels gradually decreased, turning areas which are coloured red into progressively greener ones, which indicate considerably lower air pollution levels if not healthy air quality entirely

My fave Phil Tippett fact is he invented something called go motion, which was basically stop motion but with added motion blur (the lack of motion blur is part of what gives stop motion its uncanny quality) CGI quickly made go motion irrelevant, but you can see it on the dragon in Willow (1988)

Gargantuan illustration of a charizard redesigned in the style of a monster hunter elder dragon. There are 4 hunters attacking him and their pikapalico is readying a voltorb bomb to throw. There is so much stuff in there, I spent a damn year on this. I'm exhausted.

-IMPORTANT- Gumroad has recently updated their website with the intention of phasing out the ability to manually edit your storefront and allowing you to only edit your storefront via AI agents. I will be dropping gumroad support entirely in the near future. More to come as I sort things out.
