My writing backup method is still my fave method of being able to prove you wrote your whole book yourself, no AI: A daily Word doc from my Scrivener, day's date in title, emailed to myself. Would anyone LIKE to see the first draft? No, not even me. 🤢 But I COULD show my work over time.

Welp, it's happened. I asked a student if she used AI, and she didn't (she's also been asked this in person after handwriting a piece in class!) and now we have to talk about how to revise to not sound like an LLM that stole the styles of everyone to make its own stupid, inferior "style."

Working at a coworking spot and looking down the highrise tunnels, I just saw a peak Wellington moment during which a man's umbrella flew all the way inside out; he fought with it until it was ripped from his hands and blasted into traffic just as he was blown off the sidewalk. (He was fine.)

A coaching client recently turned in a piece of writing that was at once much better (more lyrical) and also more boring than her normal writing. It was like a diva singing seven notes of an aria on repeat. AI, I thought! My first piece of it! I ran it through some checkers.
