I’ve just been relistening to this LP from last year… I need to spread the word. Paul Vickers was the singer of Dawn of the Replicants in the 90s and beyond. He performs surreal comedy shows as Mr Twonkey. This is his fifth album with The Leg and it is some sort of masterpiece. Give it a try!

I was listening to some Leonard recently & I decided I urgently required the four or five albums I was missing. This one arrived yesterday. What an excellent creation. The design was by John Berg using a photo by Jacotte Chollet. And didn't they do an amazing job?

I like a lot of Suede music but I always found this album really hard on the ears. Today I gave it another try and it still doesn’t work for me. But the good news is, I noticed that in the hit song ‘Beautiful Ones’ Brett actually sings about “the beautiful worms” which is a treat to hear!

In the early 70s, David Bowie described his mysterious song ‘The Bewlay Brothers’ as “Star Trek in a leather jacket” which inspired this drawing.

Proof the CSO work was at least half-decent. Although admittedly a still looks much more convincing than the video.

Euros Childs Son of Euro Child, 2009 A couple of weeks ago, I was listening to a digital version of this and I thought I was mad not to have a physical copy of such a brilliant album... luckily they are still available from Euros' National Elf site. It arrived today and it's fantastic.

This was as good as I’d hoped & it made me think. My intro to Captain B was seeing the clip on Sounds of the 70s. Maybe that’s why I’m fond of Unconditionally Guaranteed? I love the first album and Clear Spot but Trout Mask felt impenetrable. But today I’ve ordered 3 of the other albums on CD…

I like modern art galleries because they usually have paintings that would work as cover images for weird fiction books. This is ‘Chimera’ by Victor Brauner, 1939, as seen at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg.

In August I got back on track with my mini drawings of records and CDs: 144 new ones in the last few weeks. The most fun to draw: Danger Doom, Boards of Canada, and some of the really fiddly ones by Sweet Baboo, Radiohead, and the Rolling Stones.

In about 1983, I posed with my brother and cousins for a set of photos that went down in our family’s history as some of the worst ever seen. I’ve tried to recapture that moment in this newly finished painting.
