Abandoned canvas plus leftover acrylics equals a new painting opportunity!

Rough black and white acrylic painting based on a photo of a woman posing with those big domed security cameras that looked like a Dalek head or darth Vader’s floating torture device thing.

I’ve kept listening! Really entertaining. I’ve heard another four or five episodes over the last couple of days. Great work!

Looking at the Fonts In Use page for Data 70, and this is one Data 70 book cover I haven't spotted before. Looks like a Ghost Box invention (or something from their imitators) but it's a real book from 1973.

The cover of a hardback book: Voices from the Tapes: Recordings from the Other World by Peter Bander. A b&w photo of four men wearing bulky headphones listening to a tape recorded. Background is filled by a Letratone pattern of blue concentric circles.

I have no idea quite what was going through the mind of the illustrator responsible for this Portuguese picture sleeve of Clive Dunn's Grandad, but it's quite something to behold.

I’ve just been listening to this. It’s very good. I think that Collected Comics was the first Dr Who thing I ever owned… I was 10 and I loved it. I still do.

I’ve just been relistening to this LP from last year… I need to spread the word. Paul Vickers was the singer of Dawn of the Replicants in the 90s and beyond. He performs surreal comedy shows as Mr Twonkey. This is his fifth album with The Leg and it is some sort of masterpiece. Give it a try!

I was listening to some Leonard recently & I decided I urgently required the four or five albums I was missing. This one arrived yesterday. What an excellent creation. The design was by John Berg using a photo by Jacotte Chollet. And didn't they do an amazing job?

Yes, I read B Anderson’s second book and he mentions how his vocals were sped up. Weird decision! I could only tolerate about three and a half songs today but I really love hearing him sing about beautiful worms…. I heard Head Music last week and I agree it was better than I remembered.

I like a lot of Suede music but I always found this album really hard on the ears. Today I gave it another try and it still doesn’t work for me. But the good news is, I noticed that in the hit song ‘Beautiful Ones’ Brett actually sings about “the beautiful worms” which is a treat to hear!

My hand holding the CD case of Suede’s third album ‘Coming Up’.
There’s a sticker that says “includes the hit singles ‘trash’ ‘beautiful ones’ & ‘Saturday night’” plus another sticker that says “Oxfam 99p”

Was there a second series more "difficult" than The Tripods? The earlier stories of rural pursuit by giant machines devolve into running around a mine, endless exposition from talking special effects, and strolls through that conservatory in the Barbican. historyoftv.substack.com/p/week-67-5t...

Proof the CSO work was at least half-decent. Although admittedly a still looks much more convincing than the video.

This was as good as I’d hoped & it made me think. My intro to Captain B was seeing the clip on Sounds of the 70s. Maybe that’s why I’m fond of Unconditionally Guaranteed? I love the first album and Clear Spot but Trout Mask felt impenetrable. But today I’ve ordered 3 of the other albums on CD…
