How much did they pay consultants for this? Labour got 33.7, greens got 6.7 33.7-6.7=27, 27-8.1 =18.9, 6.7+8.1=14.8, 18.9-14.8 = 4.1 Is that genuinely the maths they're doing?

Over what time frame is this? 16,290 starts in that period? Or the period over 12 months raised to that then? 18,000 completions over what period?

If I were to be charitable, this represents the political stance the Greens have historically taken: the party for the parts of the soft left who don't want to have to deal with trade-offs and want to believe they can have everything they want without loss of virtue.

Absolutely incredible sequence from CNN. "Maduro was a paranoid lunatic always lying about the CIA trying to overthrow him. Anyways, now that the CIA has overthrown him..."
It remains to be seen how the Venezuelan people will respond to a more overt CIA presence in the country post-Maduro. For years, Maduro cast the CIA as a convenient boogey man, repeatedly accusing the agency – without evidence – of attempting to topple his regime as he clung to power despite US opposition.

Now, the CIA has helped supplant Maduro and is poised to help actively manage the Trump administration’s dealings with Venezuela’s new leadership.

I would suggest some different lessons, maths etc. 3959 is the number of deaths **in one year**. The 1 in 15.4 is proportion of total deaths. 69478 deaths in scotland in 2021. Thats 1 in 17.5 as the proportion. So extremely similar. Now ask if miners smoke more than Scottish children who die etc...
Bad maths

How does someone look around and tell which subjects have disproportionately fewer graduates in employment within that field?

You can drink and have friends without paying a 10% higher tax rate for 30 years. And the point is to be able to be informed of what the value of the learning is. I don't know why anyone would oppose that.

He didn't say people shouldn't go. He said that prospective students should be shown the earnings data of graduates from their course, and the 10% higher tax rate they'll pay for most of their career if they taking the course, so they can make a more informed choice

Purple Gharial @purplegharial.bsky.social · 17/08/2025
Yes it does? Unless you think every fifth graduate went to uni for a fun pre-career knowledge-for-enjoyment exercise, then 1 in 5 people are paying a 10% higher tax rate on all their earnings for 30 years, having less resource to enjoy their lives for 30 years, because they were missold uni

I mean in my experience loads of people are in your latter group, its actually what the main driver of the discussion is. They just don't accept that that cost of having a functioning system can suddenly balloon without taking action to mitigate it by changing eligibility or assessment.

I get the need to punish encouraging people not to vote for your party when you're in a party, even if, in this context, you understand the reasoning. But it does seem strange that this would be expulsion when so many heinous things some members do result in suspensions.

Rishi mate, the issue wasn't the slogan. The issue was that your plan did not actually deal with the issue. You had expensive policies, the most ridiculous laws (defining Rwanada 'safe'), but made no attempt to process the backlog, nor work with other countries, nor any attempts to stop any boats.

It’s a sign of how far the GOP has become simply the Trump party and democratic norms and guardrails have completely weakened that the incoming president could issue pardons for insurrectionists who committed violence against police officers and the old party of law and order barely says a thing.
