I frequently see "AI" boosters implying that LLMs are simply an innate and superior part of coding now, inescapable, and that literally all programmers agree with them. And, well. That, too, is a form of propaganda

Looking at my software peers in 2026 I see fatigued faces, I see frustration, and I see a lot of people looking for a way out of an industry that seems poised on the brink of collapse. LLMs are being pushed on us at every turn, most people seem at best frustrated by them, and ultimately they seem to appeal most to people who see the production of software as a purely mechanical means to an end. They are antithetical, however, to the idea of software as a craft, or something requiring both initial and ongoing care. As an expression of the soul.

So I finally installed BioRand and it's being a real funny guy here. (It also has given me three blue herbs so far and handgun ammo for the handgun I do not currently possess)

A screenshot of a Resident Evil 2 randomizer (via BioRand). The view is of the waiting room at the police department which contains a stylized pedestal in the center. In it are Mr.X/Tyrant wandering around, with Annette Birkin partly obscured by the pedestal's placement in the room. Mr.X/Tyrant is a tall, almost human-looking being with an olive-green trenchcoat and bald head with odd scarring/markings at the back of it. Annette Birkin is a woman with medium-length blonde hair, wearing a short, white labcoat.

They both currently seem to be uninterested in eachother, but mayhap Mr.X is looking for a Mrs.X? Unfortunately for him (or it?) Annette Birkin is happily married to her mutated husband, William Birkin, loving him despite all of his flaws and rapidly fading humanity as the horrific virus he injected himself with mutates his body.

It is also a polyamorous relationship, as Annette and William are both married to their work and while respectful of poly relationships, Mr.X is not interested in being in one.

A classic tale of unrequited love.
