We show that the PE bias in confidence judgments can be a Bayes-optimal consequence of inference in high-dimensional spaces, and in CNNs, the bias also increases with dimensionality

This paper shows how measures and constructs in psychology get introduced but rarely reused. Would love to see a similar analysis done on methods of analyzing neural data. I also ask because I am wondering who to share this with :) As an example, Bayesian models of perception and hallucination are literally models of conscious experience, and the experimental paradigms are almost identical. But many people doing that don't identify as consciousness researchers.

What are criteria for researching consciousness? I mean, is it enough to study a phenomenon where experience is relevant? Hallucinations or neural correlates of visual perception. It's relevant for the social landscape; "consciousness science" is isolated from many consciousness relevant fields.
