The Working Class Face a ‘Class Ceiling’ in Elite Occupations
Being female or a person of color has long been seen as a disadvantage in hiring and promotion. A new study of college professors shows that class may loom as large.

Today, @mayor.nyc.gov officially submitted John Mangin’s nomination to serve as Chair of the Board of Standards and Appeals. John is one of NYC’s leading housing experts, and there is no shortage of work ahead at the BSA. The NYC Council should move quickly to confirm him, @shaunabreu.bsky.social!

Housing folks: can we show support for @mayor.nyc.gov’s nomination of John Mangin for Board of Standards & Appeals? Voters spoke loudly for more housing in November. Mangin has the ideal track record to deliver on that mandate. Hope my CM @cmcrystalhudson.bsky.social is on board! #housingcrisis

My heart is with everyone in Uvalde and the families across our district affected by the flooding. Please stay safe, avoid flooded roadways, and follow guidance from local officials. If you or someone you know needs a safe place to go, shelter locations are listed here.

Go NY, go NY, go NY, go! There are 54 subway stops in NY-12 and I'm planning to hit every one on the way to Primary Day on June 23rd, so you know where I had to be this morning. I couldn't miss the chance to see that fresh blue and orange paint. Game 1 tonight, let's go Knicks!

I just introduced the Anti-Insurrectionist Act in NY. It's simple: If you're a New Yorker who takes from Trump's illegal January 6th slush fund, NY will tax 100% of it.

This great reporting demonstrates: (1) the necessity of passing the Stop Super Speeders Act (call Carl Heastie and say so); and (2) the contempt the NYPD holds for the idea that its law enforcement officers should abide by the laws they're ostensibly in charge of enforcing.

@gruber.foo I’m probably a few years late to this, but I think there is a @daringfireball.bsky.social sighting in HBO’s Scenes from a Marriage remake. In episode 2 at 3:49, Oscar Issac’s character has the DaringFireball.net homepage on his browser’s start page. I’d notice that shade of grey anywhere
Cropped screenshot from episode 2 at 3:49 of HBO’s Scenes from a Marriage. It has a MacBook screen showing a web browser with 6 websites tiled on it. One of them is DaringFireball.net with an added red arrow pointing to that tile. There is a clipboard with notes in the foreground and a lamp and a window in the background.
