I came across an interesting positive argument for rewording effort with priority in engagement. I would argue that banal but novel communication is rewarded disproportionately and that overwhelmes effort as defined here. Thanks @trfetzer.com www.trfetzer.com/attention-ma...

insane how the Jackass style of liberated masculinity now seems beamed in from another planet. in 20 years we went from “no tension all release” to “all tension no release”. in my lifetime straight men have never been more scared or boring

Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital
Caravaggio's Baccus painting, featuring a lush fruity spread and leaves bedecking a pasty twink who only works out his armsArticle screenshot that says:

The most extreme examples of
Stendhal syndrome share a sensation of
self-fragmentation. Magherini
describes the case of a 53-year-old
German man who was hospitalized
after repeatedly viewing Caravaggio's
Bacchus at Uffizi Gallery. The patient
felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought
medical attention. After treating the
subject's initial episode, Magherini
writes that he came to recognize his
latent homosexuality. Another case...

illustration of a lady clad in armor and holding a richly ornamented shield. Her sword is lowed, her eyes are closed, her hair is flowing and she's surrounded by darknessThe River Maiden, a mermaid with bottom half of a long, turquoise, elegant fish-like tail against a dark water background and upper half of a fair maiden.
She gazes at the viewer with deep green eyes.
Her almost-white blonde hair dissolves in the water waves and in the background there's a lush dark forest.
Both her halves are separated by the water line. the beast (from beauty and the beast), appearing in the middle of a dense rose-bush foliage, gently holding a tiny bird in its huge paws and looking at it with tenderness. the castle tower can be seen in the distance.toe-thrasher, a rat lord wearing a royal mantle made of white fur, thrashing in the middle of a swamp in its hind legs and holding a black flail. in the swamp, there are numerous yellow eyes
