I got a UK cost of living surprise yesterday. Not far from Colwyn Bay a Mr Whippy style cone was £4. A couple of weeks ago an artisanal gelato in Venice was €2.80.

Fascinating. @cookingissues.bsky.social on the recent podcast described using a naked torch for creme brûlée. I used to use a naked torch on a 20cm x 30cm enamelled iron dish but found the results patchy. I now use a Searzall Pro with MAPP gas and the results are 🤌🏻
