Ed had pulled out his phone and was scrolling. Izzy took the syringe and drew up the sperm. Stede stared at him, and Izzy glared at him in return as he pulled the crotch of his briefs to the side. Stede turned to Ed and tapped him on the shoulder. “Why are you on your phone?”

“I’m looking up how you do this!” Ed snapped.

“Is it just me or is Boss… glowing?” Ivan asks idly as he and Fang rest in the shade of a sail and watch as Izzy threatens to tie a knot with the cock of a young crewman if they can't figure out how to secure a line properly.
“Glowing?” Fang murmurs, looking at Izzy for another moment, then to Ivan for clarification.
Ivan gestures vaguely to Izzy again before actually looking to fang. “Yeah, like… in the fertile sense.”
Fang's eyes go wide. “You think he’s…?”
“Would explain a lot, really,” Ivan replies with a bit of a shrug.
“Supoose it would, if Izzy was-” Fang's words are cut off by Izzy appearing in front of them.
“If I was what?” Izzy snaps.
“Uh, well…” Fang sputters, trying to figure out the best phrasing, looking to Ivan for help and getting nothing.
Izzy’s brow furrows. “Spit it out.”
“We'd just like to say congrats, Boss,” Ivan finally supplies.
The frown on Izzy's face twists into a look of confusion. “Congrats on what?”
Ivan and Fang look between each other nervously, Ivan finally being the one to continue. “You being… expecting?”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Izzy grumbles. He doesn't give them time to answer though before walking off in a huff, quickly making his way into Edward's cabin and shutting the door behind him with more force than may be strictly necessary.
Ed makes a slightly displeased noise at the interruption, but he affects some concern with a, “Everything alright, Iz?”
“The boys think I'm fucking pregnant, the twats,” Izzy replies with a grumble.
With a noncommittal hum, Ed nods, not really listening and presuming Izzy is griping about the standard complaints, but the words finally register after a moment, and Ed sits up properly in his seat, leaning forward as if to get a better look at Izzy as he frowns in confusion.“You're not?”
Izzy just stares at Ed in disbelief for a long moment. “Why the fuck would I be pregnant?“
A teasing smile quirks at the corner of Ed’s mouth. “Well… when two people-”
“Fuck off,” Izzy spits, unamused, “You know what I fucking mean. And don’t you think I’d tell you if I was fucking with child?”
“You’ve got a glow about you, been a bit of an extra dick lately,” Ed shrugs, “but I figured that’s your business, mate. You’d make arrangements if you needed to make port or whatever.”

“I haven’t been a fucking dick,” Izzy protests.
“You kinda have,” Ed insists, getting up to walk over to Izzy, “I was starting to think about trying to put one in you if you weren’t already, get you to relax a little or something.”
Izzy’s lip curls as if to snarl as Ed approaches him, but he doesn’t, allowing Ed to wrap an arm around his middle. “Well, I’m not, and I don’t need to fucking relax either,” he assures, but he doesn’t protest as Ed’s hand trails down to the laces of his trousers.
