That tirade Trump directed at Norah O'Donnell, where he angrily insisted he wasn't a pedophile or rapist even though she never suggested the assailant's words were true? It's a slam-dunk headline guaranteed to get clicks--and so, of course, it's MIA from the NYT/WaPo/WSJ *and* CBS News homepages.

Credit where it's due, Morgan's decision to give airtime to someone under investigation/in court for serious sexual assault has really paid off in clicks, which is the main thing I'm sure, and not just a sign of how empty and shit his and his producers souls and careers are.

This morning's Politico Playbook says that "the hottest ticket in town" during the WHCD weekend is a party hosted at Donald Trump Jr's club, where “only non-fake news is allowed in.”
Personally speaking … Your Playbook author (who’s getting old) very much prefers the boozy brunches to the late-night soirees. But it’s hard to argue that the hottest ticket in town this weekend isn’t tomorrow night’s party at The Executive Branch, the highly exclusive MAGA-friendly club co-founded by Donald Trump Jr., where founding membership costs a mere $500,000.

The party promises to be full of buzz again this year: Sources familiar with the planning told Playbook that the guest list is surging past capacity. The space has an upper limit of 275 people — but requests have come in at four times that number. What’s driving the spiking interest? The entertainment, of course. For those lucky enough to get in, Nelly will be taking the stage sometime around 9:30 or 10 p.m., we hear. “No one can compete with Nelly,” one source said.

The guest list will feature plenty of senior administration officials, as well as big names from business and tech, the sources said. It will also be the first time that journalists have been allowed in the space since its opening last year. “Only non-fake news is allowed in,” one of the sources said. But if you’re one of the many who didn’t manage to snag an invite, you’re in good company: even Fortune 15 executives are struggling to get in, the sources said.

Gotta love Politico. This piece about the midterms casually refers to *a war* as a "distraction" makes up mythical "economic gains" (job growth has halted, inflation is up) and an "affordability message" (which doesn't exist). Beyond stenography & well into fan fiction.

Any indictment coming out of this DOJ should be treated as presumptively fallacious. The real story is more likely to be the weaponization of DOJ against opponents of the regime. And the target should be given ample opportunity to respond and contextualize high up in the story.

Meanwhile in Washington, Trump hung out with Joe Rogan and signed an order to basically bypass the FDA regulatory process for psychedelics (what could go wrong?) *and yes, there likely needs to be more access to and less criminalization of these treatments. But a Trump EO isn’t the way.

Propagandist John Solomon reports that Joe DiGenova will be added to DOJ's investigative team undermining RU investigation. Propagandist John Solomon doesn't mention that he was implicated in funneling Russian disinformation with Joe DiGenova. justthenews.com/government/c...
The delays in the Senate come as Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is ramping up resources in Florida and Washington DC to develop the weaponization conspiracy case. The career prosecutor who was running the weaponization probe was sent back to her post this week in Miami, and former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova is set to start Monday as the new lead prosecutor on Russia collusion matters.

DiGenova, a longtime vocal Trump supporter who also did legal work for the president, is a veteran and accomplished federal prosecutor who has worked as a U.S. Attorney in the nation's capital as well as an independent and special counsel in politically sensitive cases.

All it took for the U.S. stock market to reset at a new all-time high was for Donald Trump to... 1) start an illegal war with Iran, 2) exhaust American defense stockpiles, 3) kill thousands of civilians, 4) empower and enrich Iran, and 5) then surrender to Iran's demands to end the war.

And if you had to guess, who do you think Senator Tim Scott co-sponsored this "No Ransom Payments Act" with? That's right. Current Trump Secretary of State MARCO RUBIO. This concludes my thread. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sen. Tim Scott co-sponsored a “No Ransom Payments” Act bill with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to ban any future payments to state sponsors of terrorism, calling the details about the Obama administration’s actions “just unreal and completely unacceptable.”

A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads:

I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs.
1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702.
2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law.
The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.

The press corps tends to reflect the value system of the moneyed elites. If there is little press coverage of Trump’s sex crimes, it’s because the moneyed elites are unbothered by them. Human suffering is inconsequential. They are not normal people but most of us still view them as if they were.

It’s a telling indicator of media desensitization that the US government’s ongoing program of murder on the high seas—which according to the perpetrators has killed fourteen (14) people this week— is no longer a subject for much serious or sustained news coverage.
Southcom website press releases page showing a near daily recent pace of “lethal kinetic strikes” on boats, each of which resulted in the intentional extrajudicial killing of multiple people outside of a recognized armed conflict.

This is an extraordinarily important point: Nothing he’s done in his life suggests Platner would be good at the everyday work of being a legislator, & nothing in his life suggests he’d be up to the demands of always speaking & behaving like an elected official.

PLATNER IS LITERALLY STILL OPENLY USING THE "R" WORD IN CASUAL CONVERSATION. TODAY.
Proschko and Platner both said they were unaware that the skull and crossbones was a Totenkopf, a symbol adopted and worn by the Nazi SS. And Platner said he didn’t know what it was until it became an issue during this campaign. Even when someone working with his campaign told him there was a rumor going around that he had a white supremacist tattoo, he said he didn’t connect it to the skull and crossbones on his chest. “I was like, ‘Well, that’s the fucking most retarded shit I’ve ever heard in my life,’” he told me. “‘No, I don’t have a white supremacist tattoo,’ and I never thought about it again. And then it came up later on, and I was like, ‘God fucking damn it.’” (He had the tattoo covered in late October.)
