While hiking above Paradise, I stopped for this view across the Tatoosh Range toward Mount Adams. I used a longer lens because I liked how it compressed the different mountain ridges together. The softer light and haze helped separate each layer as they faded into the distance.

Jagged peaks and rocky ridges of the Tatoosh Range fill the foreground beneath a layered cloudy sky. Successive mountain ridges fade into the distance toward snow-covered Mount Adams on the right. Soft golden light breaks through the clouds. The scene feels expansive and atmospheric.

A couple of #Deer photos to share. The first one is from yesterday evening, #Fawns Danny and Desi were the early birds for seeds. Please admire their little nubby antlers! And the second one features a shy doe and her female fawn (spots faded, no baby antlers). Name suggestions?

Two male fawns eating birdseed off rocks, in the backyard. Danny is on the left and his antler nubs are noticeable. Desi is on the right, with the lighter colored coat, and smaller antler nubs. We think Danny is several weeks older than Desi, but both born this year.
Grass, trees, and shrubs in the background. A winding slate path runs through the yard too.

Two shy female deer. The mom is the one walking away from the camera, while her fawn is facing the camera with her head up. When they are side by side the adult doe is noticeably bigger than her fawn. The fawn has lost all her spots, and does not have antler nubs, so we know she is female. We have seen this pair come by for a few weeks now, but they are so skittish when I try to take photos. This is the best pic out of many attempts.

Our atmospheric photograph captures the tranquil yet dramatic beauty of Blessington Lakes in County Wicklow, Ireland.

In the foreground, a broad, rocky shoreline stretches across the lower part of the image.

Hundreds of small, weathered stones and larger rocks lie scattered across the dark, damp ground, gradually disappearing beneath the shallow water.

A few isolated rocks protrude from the lake’s surface. Beyond the shoreline, the lake is remarkably still, creating a near-perfect mirror.

The water reflects the dramatic sky above, with layers of pale light and dark storm clouds appearing almost as clearly in the lake as they do overhead.

Across the water, rolling Wicklow hills form a long, gently undulating horizon. Patches of vivid green fields and farmland are visible across their slopes, interspersed with small clusters of houses.

To the right, a darker, rounded hill rises prominently above the landscape. The sky dominates the scene, filled with enormous layers of charcoal-grey and blue-grey clouds.
