A vy nejste ochotni bojovat.“ Gari Kasparov – světový velmistr v šachu, disident Halifax International Security Forum

For me, mushrooms are usually just something I snap a photo of and move on. But right now there’s a bumper crop of these inconspicuous wood-decay St. Wenceslas mushrooms—specifically, Armillaria borealis. They contain heat-sensitive toxins, but after cooking […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

The photo shows a tree trunk lying on the ground, completely covered with green moss. The ground around it is covered with fallen dry leaves. The trunk lies lengthwise in the portrait-oriented photograph. Above the center of the photograph, a mushroom can be seen growing from the trunk; it has a thin brown stem and a yellow-brown cap that is darker in the center and has a darker rim around the edge.

This macro photograph shows the surface of a gray-green leaf covered with a vast number of tiny water droplets.

The photograph shows a low-growing plant with many large leaves sprouting from the ground in a rosette that spreads across the ground; only the central leaves are upright. No stem is visible. The leaves are greenish in color and are thick and bushy, as if they were covered in fur.
