an important update on the Wipeout video i'm working on.

so some of you may know im working on a Wipeout series video essay. It's not quite done yet, but it's pretty close! That being said, I've just finished chapter 8 of the video, which is where I initially wanted to look at a bunch of my favorite indie games that have been inspired by the series. Originally, there was going to be a huge chunk of the video where I glaze BallisticNG, an admittedly very well made classic wipeout tribute that i've been playing for a very long time.

However.

While proofreading my script, I noticed some stuff surrounding the game that I felt the need to address in the video. I've removed the glaze-piece and replaced it with a warning about the community and it's devs (this is in response to apparent bigotry allegations (which i dont know are true or not but its worth mentioning rather than ignoring it) and claims of extreme toxicity in the fandom and official dev team (which i personally can confirm is true, from personal experience.))

the reason i'm telling you guys about this is to let you know of a few things.
i might be kicking a hornet's nest. apparently people have been sent death threats just from giving the game a negative review on steam.
please, please do not seek out people associated with the game and harrass them or stalk them. Just avoid them if you can/feel the need to.
im sorry that a fun, silly video where i yap about one of my favourite series turns into something serious with emotional baggage like 80% of the way into it.
im not equipped to deal with shit like this delicately, so i apologize if the way it's handled in the video isn't good enough. i'm still learning about if some of the claims are true, so i kinda have to choose my words carefully in case they're completely wrong and i end up slandering an entire community or game over false rumors.

i am now imagining someone nailing their 3ds to the wall so they can show off their ambassador certificate like its a cherished family photo

a nintendo 3ds nailed to the wall through the inner camera. the screen says "ASS" on it, referencing the ambASSador certificate. the nail is so haphazardly pushed through, it not only damages the 3ds, but also the wall behind it, cracking both in the process.
