Setting up a VM of win11 on my linux desktop to make binaries of an app I'm working on... I never new I could hate Windows more than I did before. At least powershell doesn't get in the way since it aliases a lot of common commands to equivalent unix ones.

Wouldn't it be messed up if there was two ways to write "é" in Unicode code points? 1) 'é' (0x00e9) 2) 'e' (0x0065) followed by '◌́' (0x0301) I mean, duh. But think of the consequences... you can write the same word with a different number of bytes, and completely different bytes.

Drawing all 16,777,216 possible 12 bit RGB colours in one 2D image, each exactly once. Pixels are mapped from the 256³ colour cube, following a three dimensional Hilbert curve, to a two dimensional Hilbert curve filling the square. so nearby colours stay close.

Just found a webdev crime against humanity. The page systematically fits its width to 105% of the provided view.
