I guess in an environment where everyone gets used to highly discretionary permitting things like bribery and kickbacks just get casually referred to as getting someone to “work magic” and help “navigating” city hall.

The company’s research says it metabolizes quickly enough and is dosed at a level where it shouldn’t have an impact on anything larger than rats. It doesn’t pose poisoning risks they’ve seen for dogs, cats and birds. They say it won’t make the squirrels sterile.

So rat birth control needs to be widespread and reapplied weekly to be effective, as it is reversible and dependent on rats encountering it as a food source. I don’t know what the pricing looks like for individual buildings, but best to go in on it with your whole block.
