I use a heavy duty kryptonite chain with a mini-U lock for my Surly Big Dummy & a U-lock for the front wheel. The chain is nice for odd size objects where a U-lock won’t work. Like this one www.kryptonitelock.com/en/products/... I think I chose this because of Lock Picking Lawyer on YouTube

There might even be spots open in the Sunday Darkroom classes offered by The Art League School. There's a mix of experience, from people who have spent years in the Darkroom to people who are brand new to film photography.

And if you're curious about black and white film photography, oh boy is this a great event for you. We've been in this space for about 2 years and it's really nice to work in. There are 10 enlargers, including two for printing up to 4x5 negatives.

I'll be there with a wide range of stuff from a nice Schneider 210 mm f/5.6 4x5 lens to an AGFA Clack 6x9 camera. I also have some Canon FD and Olympus OM lenses. There will be several other people with gear for sale and we all have at least mild cases of gear acquisition syndrome.

A poster advertising a photography yard sale and Darkroom open house for The Art League School of Alexandria, VA. The poster background is primarily a blue-gray and features line drawings showing various cameras on the left side. The right side shows a film strip with perforations along the sides characteristic of 35 mm film.

Text is overlayed on the film strip with the event name, date, and location. The event happens on September 18, 2026 from 11 AM to 5 PM in Art Studio 3 at the The Muse in North Old Town. The specific address is 1201 N Royal St, Alexandria, VA.

Not necessarily Stephen King books, but I've enjoyed most of the his work under the Richard Bachman pen name. I also liked the novellas/stories he collected in Different Seasons. I haven't read any of this in years though, so no guarantees my teenage tastes hold up.

Get something like a city bike. Definitely cute, will let you carry stuff (you will, even if you don’t expect to), and is built for comfort. Go with a reputable brand, something a bike shop sells, because the expensive part is the battery and motor and you want good service on those.

Am I missing something where Dominion’s rates are higher for their demand based pricing described here? www.dominionenergy.com/virginia/rat... They say most residential customers pay 11-13 cents per KWh which is the “Super Off Peak” rate. Seems like you’d always pay more because on peak is 2x more

Talent isn't rare. Throw an apple & you hit someone with talent. Perseverance? rare. Work ethic? exceedingly rare; the willingness to grind. Being able to endure the scorn, rejection & privation a life in the arts dooms you to in the United States is unicorn-scarce. But talent? Talent is everywhere.

I wonder if this will blow up in their face because Columbia’s reputation is now so tarnished a degree from them will be viewed as suspect? Fairly certain that didn’t happen to any universities under the original implementation of affirmative action.

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people
