the idea here is to take advantage of all the nurtures ive crafted, which give me a burst of fuel between rounds, to allow me to exile as many cards as seem necessary to build an overwhelming amount of card advantage in the first few turns. nothing left to do but see if the hypothesis is true!

I've got an idea that i think will shake things up a bit that I'll be testing tonight: stitched fungal daze/drowned rot cards. fungal is a returning effect from the very first wreksyft league, and offers costly but high-tempo recursion.

the test decks so far have leaned into playing for the clock, using effects like *foil dials* to catch people on greedy scraps and "steal" rounds using very little material. we've all had to change how we play substantially to respond! the dominant heurisitic right now is: minimize vulnerability.

Something instead of nothing

Page 2: Later, the main zookeeper is in a dark room filled with TVs displaying security footage of the zoo animals. He is soaking wet in a raincoat, staring solemnly at the screen which shows the chimpanzee. The zookeeper reaches down to press a large red button on the desk beneath the screen display.

Page 3: from inside the chimpanzee exhibit, we see the security gate open. The chimpanzee wander through and exits the building to a dark, rainy street corner. He extends his arms and lets the rain fall onto him.

Page 4: the chimpanzee is in the backseat of a cab, driving somewhere else in the city at night. The final panel is the chimpanzee at checkout in a grocery store with a huge pile of bananas. The clerk looks mildly shocked.

ive had a habit for a while of collecting art i know I'll like and then not actually engaging with it because i don't feel "ready" to experience it correctly. breaking that bit by bit by trying to accept that each attempt at a beautiful experience is practice, and as always writing a lot of notes.
