Whoa, new glasses arrived and the new prescription is quite different. Feels like when I first got glasses again, everything (within about 3 foot) is HD again. Really didn't realise how bad it had gotten.

I always find top 10's hard, my mum asked for a top 10 playlist once and it clocked in at 114 tracks. So this was really hard.

But for some reason I never thought maybe others were being faking being bad at drama do sports... But then if their acting was so convincing, surely that would have proved they should be in drama and backfired?

For some reason my mind popped back to my GCSE days. Our school you either did PE/Sport or Expressive Arts (drama, music etc.). At the start you did 2 weeks of each and then teachers put you in whatever they thought best. Now my mates and I "faked" being terrible at sports so we could do drama...

Today's plan: get work stuff done as quickly as possible and then do my millennial duty and get in on the World of Warcraft Forever Beta.

It's quite nice that all those shitty AI thumbnails and posters use that same horrible font so they are easier to spot and block.

It's arrived and I'm moving in and realising how many odd bits I have installed and weird settings that don't sync across anything set. Apparently I view blue sky at 90%. The built in Mac Screen Sharing app is awesome, so I have my old mac in a window and I can copy and paste or drag stuff over.

Can confirm A) Charlotte Church is a good one. B) Ed Sheeran is a roach. C) Charlotte Church's Pop Dungeon is one of the best gigs you'll ever go to. Ever.

Also to beat a drum I have for 20 years now. This would be the best way to bring it to consoles and new players. Though I've got a new Mac Studio coming about 2 weeks before it comes out so I think I'll be using the most power computer I've ever had to play a 20 year old game.

Oh man, World of Warcraft: Forever is ticking all the right boxes for me. Catching up with all the expansions has always kept me diving back in too deeply. So did the accelerated early levelling and flying mounts and they've got rid of them and kept the updated look www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQuK...

As for going Linux, only do that if you want an extra job. I've had Linux servers for 20+ years, not once has a Linux desktop made sense. Windows feels like MS are annoyed you're using it to do anything but Word and Excel. Linux feels like trying to use a spellbook. Mac just gets out of your way.

How long ago was that? Macs are in a really great place at the moment as they've just been focusing on user experience for years and years now. Bar gaming (which has got a lot better) it's been years since I've felt restricted by being on Mac.

I know it's not going to happen, but MacBooks are stupidly good value compared to everything else at the moment if you can stomach the switch. Crazy battery life, dead reliable, no windows nonsense and it'll last twice as long as anything else.

A few years ago when our teenager would put Ed Sheeran on playlists I had a policy of whenever one of his songs came on in the car to scream as loud as possible (whilst driving) until it was skipped. She's now cool and has been on more Free Palestine marches than I have. Nice to be proved right.

You've done well to avoid it for so long. It's at plague levels here. There was even a Taco barge on the canal I was looking forward to, but when I got there it was all AI. We stood in line for about 10 seconds and had to leave once we realised.

Last night 10pm I got an email reminding me of a new carpet coming today that I'd forgot about. Helpfully my time slot is 9-4 today. So I've been up since 6 moving everything out of my main bedroom, pulling up, cutting up and lugging out the old carpet ready. I presume they'll arrive at 3:55.

Got an LG TV? You want to watch this... then go and make sure it's not connected to the internet... make sure it's not still wired in to your network... then never by an LG anything ever again. It's a long one but the first few minutes should get the message across: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IFV...

Apparently people are sharing this far and wide on social media, which I think is horrible. This could cripple ICE operations. PLEASE do not share this.

Recent film watches: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) Steve Martin and Michael Caine comedy. They just don’t make these any more. So much fun. Highly recommend! Superman III (1983) Richard Pryor and scary computers. Scared me so much as a kid. But quite silly watching it back.

Just got back from seeing "& Sons" it was really good. Went in blind but knowing it had a great cast. A great example that films don't need to be huge to tell a great story.

But it does make you think if this is just another pressure on AI douches. They also have to pay way over value, they also have made an enemy of all consumer electronics companies and then there's the increase costs of tech to people & businesses causing more anti-AI sentiment. It has to end soon.

The fact Apple are delaying new iPhones to next year really shows how fucked things are on the RAM front. If you want something new, you're too late, you're going to get ripped off if you buy anything that needs RAM. Computers, TVs Consoles, Phones, Tablets... nothing is going to be a good value.

OK, I did it. I caught up with the Marvel Films. Thunderbolts was OK, though coming off the back of the Captain America film anything would look good though. If you want to do any Marvel-ing pre doomsday. I'd go for Fantastic Four and the new spidey.

For some reason I decided to watch Captain America: Brave new world tonight. This is a terrible terrible film. Literally at every level. Only continuing to watch as I know it’ll make every other film better by comparison.

Also watched Palestine 36, which was less enjoyable but does a very good, timely and moving job of highlighting how good Britain is at going places, drawing lines and fucking everything up.

Just watched the new fantastic four film not long after seeing the new spider-man. And they were both just decent stand-alone things that were enjoyable! I’d been down on marvel for it feeling to burdened by everything had to be in everything else MCU nonsense, but these were fun zero fomo things.

Part of why the world is the way it is, is that when we used to write to MPs, TV and newspapers with our complaints about them, we now put those ideas on social media, as depicted in this video:

My political platform is quite simple. Once a year we get the 10 richest people, stand them by a rocket and randomly select one of them to launch into the sun. The process repeats every year until poverty, hunger and the climate crisis are fixed. If progress isn't fast enough, we make it monthly.

Someone needs to plot media appearances by @edzitron.com in a graph. It's obviously a exponential curve that could predict the day Ed is eventually on all channels, feeds and podcasts at the same time and this is the day the AI bubble goes to shit. The curve has definitely steepened recently.
