They spray Roundup on all kinds of crops, including ones without gluten (corn, soy, nuts, greens, etc) so it seems unlikely that could be the cause of trouble people have only from gluten heavy products. The linked article has some interesting info in it.

Personally I don't see a problem with day 1 ratings. If you've played the release version of the game, great. Before that, it isn't what people are going to buy, and bare numerical ratings are irrelevant. It's different if someone gets an early copy and posts an actual review. But yeah, windmills.

I don't think play testers should be leaving pre-release reviews. The game isn't finished, and therefore opinions on it are not appropriate for public distribution or consumption. They are, in fact, less than useful because they are necessarily based on something other than the final product.

There's no feasible way to make sure raters have played, they can just lie. I don't understand why you can rate a game that isn't even out yet. When you create a game listing on the site you should be able to set a release date and reviews should not be allowed before then unless you agree to it.

The top one is much more "readable" to me. If you want a slightly fancier looking combination though, you could combine the "filled in" version with an additional outline around the larger star things.

Learning Thunder Road 2-handed. Absolute carnage by the time one car gets off the lead board due to unlucky oil slicks and a self-own via ill-used chopper in round 2. I think it will be more fun with 4p, but the road feels so tight that I predict an insane amount of ping-pong slams into impassibles.

The zoomed image has additional detail like rocks and shovel dings. But they probably started from the same piece, since even the squiggle on his leg matches. Interestingly the horizon is in the same relative place, so it really is like they zoomed in on the shovel with a virtual camera.

Similar issue - my spouse enjoyed it as a 2p activity at first, but once we'd opened the fourth envelope it got too complicated for her to enjoy it as a chill time (not a board gamer at heart). I guess I should get back into it as a solo toy.

Just start using em dashes — all the Ai has been trained to stop using them now. Also, typos are something phishers and other email scammers use to weed out the more competent potential targets, so you'd better be careful if you ever email someone to ask for money or a favor :)

Rolled credits on Zero Company last night after about 46 hours of play. Not a perfect game, but I think as close as you can get given the material and constraints. One of the rare titles I really enjoyed throughout and feel perfectly happy having paid full price for. I hope there's a sequel!

LLMs are complex statistical models in the form of advanced chat bots. To paraphrase Clarke, any sufficiently advanced NLP response engine is indistinguishable from intelligence. But it isn't real intelligence any more than a Bic or a biplane are real magic.

Yeah I really don't like games where someone can trigger the end unexpectedly. If it's not telegraphed by public information then it loses tension and is also disappointing to everyone but the winner. At least be like Ark Nova where we can all see the doom inching closer more quickly than we want.

If the definition of a AAA game is based on budget and dev team size, this seems baked in - design by committee & noted to death by management like any huge project from the entertainment industry. I'm enjoying Zero Company, but it's a rarity. Way more fun to be had in AA games. What is BG3 though?
