The left missed the threat posed by Trump in early 2016 because it was focused on attacking liberalism. After the election it spent a lot of time normalizing Trump (“just a usual Republican”) or arguing that at least he wasn’t Bush. It was contemptuous of “wine moms” and their “hashtag resistance.”

The thing is that this is a take that WAS true in the 80's and 90's when cheap plastic replaced metal and glass in a large amount of consumer goods. However now that has already been the case for decades we have had nothing but constant improvement since then. People's priors have not updated.

Idk, as someone who has to go on site but works with people who WFH all the time, there is definitely a drop in productivity of people when they are WFH compared to on site. I can never get any work done on Mondays and Fridays because nobody is actually working those days.

This is incredibly important. People are fleeing blue states with good services and high costs for red states with bad services and low costs. People care a lot more about costs (COL and Taxes) than they do about getting the best social services and Dems need to address that or lose the long game.
