Pacy little honeymoon they had there. The #Greens Party policy to abandon Ukraine to the merciless Putin is as ethically bereft as our government sending bomber bits to Israel while it's trying to obliterate Gaza. Stand against war criminals or stay home. Who dis? New vote.

A friend kindly offered me a spare ticket to see Daniel Kitson in a couple of weeks time. I said I didn’t know he was on but I’d love to come so I would just check my diary. Turns out I can’t take his spare because I’ve booked a ticket to see Daniel Kitson that night.

Hey @moderation.bsky.app @aaron.bsky.team is it official Bluesky policy that trans people aren't allowed to report posts that wish death to trans people as hate speech, since somebody is being threatened with suspension? Or is somebody going rogue and breaking policy to threaten a trans user?

If nothing else AI is making clear that there are people all around us for whom writing, art, and music are not communion with another mind, but just - wallpaper. Just pleasant things to look at. They think AI is conscious because they have no actual grasp of what it is to encounter another mind.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The title for the first two panels is "Young Me".
In panel one we see a young version of Sarah, the protagonist. She says, "I want to achieve great things".
In panel two we zoom in a little on young Sarah's face. She continues, "An astounding career! An amazing house! World peace!"
The title for the last two panels is "Adult Me".
In panel three we see adult Sarah, looking down.
In panel four we zoom out and see she is in front of a basil plant. She simply says "I want to grow a basil plant".

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.
