The replies are pissing me off because yes, it's logistically easier to cut someone off today. The emotional toll that it takes on you, however, remains high. Children are biologically wired to love their parents no matter what. Cutting off a parent is excruciatingly painful.

I wish people understood that TV writers: 1. *Have* actually thought more about this than even the most die hard fan. 2. Are beholden to time, money, and owner constraints that fans will never be aware of. 3. Are extremely likely to already be aware of any critiques because (see 1) but (see 2)

This is a moral atrocity and it needs to be loudly condemned as such. There is a reason that democracies *don't* do publicly televised executions (and why many don't execute people at all): it inculcates and rewards bloodthirst, which corrupts the spirit and corrodes the foundation of the polity.

My really popular barebones RSS comic from November 2022! I hope it helps you stay updated with your favourite webcomics, artists and websites. I’m just a simple guy who’s passionate about RSS feeds, comics and staying updated using both. Go forth and make the feed of your dreams! #Art #Comic #RSS
Comic page giving a mini tutorial on what an RSS feed is. Panel 1: You might've seen this icon before. It's the RSS icon. But what is RSS? RSS is an update feed for a website. Every time the site publishes a post, article, comic page, etc. the feed is updated. Most websites have a RSS feed. Panel 2: You'll usually find it in a site's menu. It might also be on a sidebar or the footer. Panel 3: But if I click on it it's just a bunch of code! What gives? What am I supposed to do with it?! Panel 4: This is where you'll need a feed reader like feedly!Comic page giving a mini tutorial on what an RSS feed is. Panel 1: One, on Feedly click the follow button. Two, copy the URL from the site's RSS button and add it to the search box. Panel 2: Three, this will bring up the feed for the site. Four, Add it by clicking the follow button. You can also search the name of the site without the RSS link but it's more accurate if you have the link. Panel 3: Add the new feed to a folder. Panel 4: Now the feed will appear on your Feedly when it updates! Panel 5: What I did was get the Feedly add-on for my browser. So every time a site I follow updates the extension lets me know! Panel 6: Clicking the title of the update opens the site in a new tab. I personally like seeing content on it's own site. But you can set everything up so you only ever need to open Feedly.Comic page giving a mini tutorial on what an RSS feed is. Panel 1:If you run a site make sure your RSS button is easily accessible. The URL will usually be something like yoursite.com/feed or yoursite.com/rss. Panel 2: Be sure to follow your own RSS feeds to make sure they're updating properly. This way if it goes down for whatever reason you'll be able to catch the problem before your readers miss too many updates. Panel 3: And that's all there is to it! It's very customizable so play around with it to see what works for you! Panel 4: No fuss. No algorithms. Just the updates you choose to see! Hey! My favourite comic updated!

I love how these moral panics about family estrangement always bring up children refusing to talk to their parents, never the long history of parents disowning children. It's fine if dad wants to kick out his gay kid, not if his gay kid doesn't want to talk to his homophobic dad.

insert one of my favourite tweets of all time. the whole “protector” thing men keep imagining they are/want to become is based on a male fantasy created for their ego and approval of other men. women are just the tools they use for that— what we ACTUALLY want is, quite famously, always ignored.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

There are some incredible researchers and “empathisers” out there lol, who can do a lot with what they haven’t lived— but I feel like you can tell when a story isn’t being told from a distance, and has heart baked into it! You also kind of “trust” it more bc you know the author knows their shit lol.

Writing what you know is, imo, the best way to get your story to really MEAN something, bc you’ve lived it and can add in all these little details/nuances/insights that raise stories and characters from good to great, and ensure that you can truly connect with people and allow them to feel seen too!

Honestly, I’m not aware of the Feedly privacy concerns, so thank you for bringing it to my attention! :) I’ll look into it for sure. If it ends up working out though, I think you can also just use the site and never have to use the app ever, if you want. But if you don’t, then ofc no worries!

All in all, I think this is a great time saver and tool for those who don’t want to check all of their favourite comic sites individually all the time, forget to check them/get behind on updates, or want an easy way to access comics via one platform on mobile and desktop. Hope this was helpful! 😊

k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
“What about comics that don’t have RSS feeds?” you might ask. I follow over 30 webcomics as you can see, and out of all them, a grand total of ✨2✨ don’t have it. I still check those individually, and it’s so few that I don’t mind doing it. Webtoon comics all have RSS. Tumblr does too.
110
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Step 6: repeat as many times as desired, for all the comics you want to follow! What you should end up with is a homepage showing recent updates from all the comics you follow, and you can now just be notified of them and check them without going to every bookmarked site individually.
210
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Step 5: go to your feed reader and select the “add feeds” button or similar. (I have circled it in the photo.) Then, paste the link you just got into the search bar. The feed for the comic you want should come up, and you just click the “+” sign next to it (not shown in the photo) to add it. Done!
110
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Step 4: get that RSS link for your feed reader. There are a few ways to add feeds, but the easy way I’ll do it here is to copy the link from the RSS button. In this example, I “long press” the button and then select “copy”, but on desktop etc you can open the link and then copy it.
110
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Step 3: once the download and setup is complete, you can start adding feeds (ie. the comics and sites you want to follow). Go to your first webcomic of choice and find the RSS symbol on the site (creators will usually put it w/ other socials links or buttons). It looks like a sideways WiFi symbol.
120
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Step 1: download a “feed reader”. This is just the app you use to access the updates. I personally use Feedly: it also has a website you can use on desktop, if you prefer that. Step 2: set up your account so you can log in to the reader anywhere. You can just log in via Google or other sites too.
120
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
If this looks intimidating, I do want to say that it’s actually a few easy steps: I just broke them down a lot, haha! You basically just download/set up a feed reader, find the links to your comic’s feeds, and add them. Then all you have to do is regularly check the reader for updates.
130
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Here are some easy steps to setting up a RSS feed, if you’d like to try it out! (I’m going to use @rynbow.bsky.social’s comic Neon Pantheon for this example because… it slaps. 🙂‍↕️) I’ll be showing how to set it up on mobile, but you can do this on desktop too.
181
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
So what is RSS? In simple terms, it’s a way of keeping track of updates from a lot of different websites, within one single feed that you can personalise. It can be used for getting news updates daily from your sites of choice, for example— and it’s perfect for webcomic updates.
130
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
I’ve been reading webcomics since around 2015, and used to just bookmark the comics I loved. However, I kept forgetting to check them for updates, and only had them bookmarked on my laptop. I switched to an RSS reader probably around 2020-21, and have never looked back.

Since hearing about the #Tapas news earlier, and realising that it might mean we get more #webcomics hosted on their own individual sites again, I would like to introduce fellow webcomic readers to using RSS feeds as an easy way to keep track of all the comics you love! Thread below:

It just seems like you’re overexaggerating its difficulty because it doesn’t work for you, and so I want to tell others it doesn’t have to be that hard to use it. Anyway, this isn’t a hill I will die on today lol. Bookmarks are fine. RSS is also an easy possible solution. That’s all I wanted to say.
100
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
And I’m saying that RSS isn’t actually that much more advanced, and that it may save people time in the long run. I get that it doesn’t work for you, but it works fine for many incl. myself. I am def not against your bookmark idea, and use it for the 2 out of 30+ comics I follow that don’t have RSS.
100
k. h. @petrichor-pixels.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Fair enough, I get that if it doesn’t work right for you, having another option is great! I’m just not sure what you mean by “on top of everything else”: it takes about the same time to create an RSS feed as a bookmark list, and also doesn’t take as long to check RSS for updates daily.
