So true! My previous dozen or so Rush shows were like “let’s throw a couple old washing machines on stage and replay the same fan videos from 1991.” Last night was like an ELO show. bsky.app/profile/gloo...

Me & Theo at Rush in 2015 and 2026. Legally bought him a beer for one of these shows. ⚡️🤘🏼⚡️

My friend and I were at the 2015 Faith No More show at the Warfield and were delighted to find him in the pit watching the opening act (Frightwig maybe?) for his own headlining show. I usually wouldn't take a photo in this situation but the "RODDY" T-shirt felt like consent.

I feel you. I’ve felt the same way about legacy bands, and reunions after long waits. I was so glad I saw Sugar but avoided Jawbreaker in 2017-18 because I was pretty sure they couldn’t match my memories. (Sorta regret it now.) Imperial Teen will be fun! Only seen them once. Glad they’re touring.

I demanded the Chronicle drop the "pop" in my pop culture critic byline about a decade ago when I realized I didn't recognize 85% of the bands in the Top 40 that week and half the bands booked at Oakland Arena. (Excited to see Rush tonight tho.)

This is a great point and something I need to remind myself of more often. I've been reminded to include more notes about accessibility beyond accounts of my bike adventures and have been failing lately. Thanks for the note @sfjeff.bsky.social and thanks for reading 🌁 ❤️ bsky.app/profile/sfje...

You're 100% right. I'll try to be better about relaying transit and also car access in future articles. Thank you for reading and reaching out.

Favorite part of my job is when an @sfchronicle.com reader lets me know how much I still have to learn about S.F. Do yourself a favor and make a date to check out these views. Even better if you can bike up the Bay Bridge walkway to get there. Gift link 🎁 🌁 ❤️ www.sfchronicle.com/totalsf/arti...

I ranked S.F.’s best views. Then readers sent me a stunner I’d missed
I thought I knew the greatest views in San Francisco. Then Chronicle readers found one of the best of all.

Please take this a step further and next time you’re at McDonald’s order an “Egg McGuffin with cheese” — then let it just sit on the counter going uneaten for the rest of the day.

Very frustrating! I watched a show once in that area. Think I’d go to Tunnel Tops now but that was a prime spot!

All good friend! I’ve just worked that job - breaking sports news - and an OT game and a second half comeback are about the hardest things because you have to rewrite your lead etc. This game had both. Go Valks! 💜 No more Peacock games!! My parents were mad too.

My ferry station! I’m at South Shore Mall & a Blue Angel just zoomed overhead. Alameda definitely a bad spot for scared dogs.

Not sure if it was a bold or completely disqualifying move to make a Fleet Week guide for dogs and include a destination that’s right next to an actual airport. But I’m my defense it’s probably the most dog-friendly airport in the Bay Area. 📸s: @jachristian.bsky.social

We’ve assembled our first Escape from Fleet Week guide, with five weekend excursions for people — and pets — who aren’t wild about the F-18s flying in formation over San Francisco.

I ride with @mingemi.bsky.social Whatever comes Marisa’s way she puts her energy into making A+++ content for the people. If you have the means in these tough times support the local journalism that you love. A few bucks to an indie producer is a civic act. 🗞️💜

You know how hard it is to write a game story when the narrative is changing moment to moment at the end of the game? Do you think the players & coaches are talking to local scribes before the national broadcasters? Show some patience. I’ve done it and it’s a very hard job.

Valkyries are like the villain in a horror movie. They keep coming at you. No let up. Relentless. The creativity of the Bay embodied. The values of the Bay embodied. The quiet toughness of the Bay embodied. BALLHALLA will be lit in the finals. S.F. will be at its best in the finals. 💜⚔️🌁

I’m cool! It’s a win-win. If we lose we did it while resting our starters and making them work hard. (Also I can muster no dislike for any of the Aces. Becky Hammon = future Warriors coach?)

Sometimes when Kaitlyn Chen is on the sideline it seems as if she has forgotten she’s a player and thinks she’s a fan who lucked into courtside seats. Pure joy. Whatever happens tonight (and the next night and the next …) this is a gift, and one of the all-time special seasons in Bay Area sports.

I spent exactly zero seconds caring. I knew what she was about. She lectured me that I wasn’t an impartial journalist. Tried to explain I’m a columnist/critic who openly encourages biking & transit as part of my beat but will be critical when warranted! Could tell she was tuning me out. Whatevs. 🤷

I think in reality what socialism actually means in the American context is that trillionaire Elon Musk got $38 billion from the U.S. government and you got rejected trying to buy a $1 soda on SNAP benefits.

Before Amelia Earhart, this female aviator thrilled S.F. Why is she forgotten?
“Flying Schoolgirl” Katherine Stinson broke gender barriers and thrilled San Francisco crowds long before Amelia Earhart. Then history lost her name.

One of our old printing plants was in Union City. In terms on my geographic understanding it was like telling me it’s on Neptune. They moved to Fremont* & I was like “Which part? Cushing Road? Oh that’s not too far from the second Target by the freeway.” (*Adjacent to Union City, I think maybe.)

Worried about this … Nakase does does weird rotational stuff (long Gabby sit downs etc) but makes no sense to keep her out at this point in the game. Chen cooling down. Need their steadiest hand.

Always! I write a lot about under-the-radar Bay Area downtowns & parks and my rule is I have to take transit & bike to get there. It has been especially cool with the North Bay towns, taking the ferries & SMART train. Crockett was the hardest. (But still fun!) www.sfchronicle.com/totalsf/arti...
